First Poster For 'Oz: The Great and Powerful'

One film I am growing more and more fascinated by is Sam Raimi's 'Oz: The Great and Powerful.' It will apparently be the story of how the titular wizard came to that magical world we know from the 1939 classic 'The Wizard of Oz' and the circumstances that lead him to become the ruler. James Franco takes the title role and recently the first official poster for the movie hit the web. I love this poster. The artistry employed is indicative of a time when Photoshop could not be called upon to design your poster for you. I love the tornado imagery as well as the incorporation of the iconic hot air balloon. Take a look at the poster below and let us know what you think.

'Oz: The Great and Powerful' is due in theaters March 8th, 2013

Saw the trailer... The landscape of Oz itself looked a bit too much like Wonderland for my taste, but the monsters looked awesome. I still have high hopes here!

Yeah, I enjoyed this poster and I'm certainly interested in this film now. But take off that Spiderman stuff for heavens sake.

Have to say, first movie poster that has made me interested in a movie for awhile.

No, the studio shoved Spider Man 3 down our throats. Sam Raimi did the best he could.

Should have read..."From the director who shoved Spider Man 3 down your throats."

"Visionary Director of the Spider-man Trilogy"  we're reading this and nobody's died from laughter?

Pretty poster. I can't wait to see the random dance scenes.

Wooo! I love it!

And I love that they're advertising with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy.
