The Halfrican posted a statusPossibly the biggest superhero movie to date, 'The Avengers' saw the release of its first official trailer today. Lots of action—as we could have expected—some humorous character interaction between these titan-like superheroes, and a badass song? What more can you really ask of a trailer? My one issue is Tony Stark’s line near the end. He says, “if we can’t protect the Earth, you can be damn sure we'll avenge it.” No, Tony, I’d really prefer it if you saved the Earth…as that is your damn job.
You can also peep the trailer in super high-def over at Apple.com.
Easily one of the most anticipated films of the year (if not the decade) and the result of nearly three years worth of an experiment in film crossovers and combined continuity, Marvel's 'The Avengers' arrives in theaters on May 4th, 2012.

I'm not fond of Cap firing a machine gun, but the Marvel film universe is much more like the Ultimate version so I can get over it (or maybe they'll have him using it to blow through a door or something instead of just mowing down motherf**kers). The costumes look great, it looks like the actors have a knack for Whedon's dialog (minus the forced "avenge" line) and it looks like they've got their ducks in a row story-wise (how all the Avengers clashed with each other at first).
@Happy Birthday Roboto - He does wear the mask, but yeah... a lot of it is face time. Funny behind-the-scenes note: the original helmet design had open ears (like the comics and early concept art), but Evans ears stuck out too much (and the stuntperson's didn't) so they had to redesign it with earflaps to cover it, LOL.

Comment by John Lemus on October 13, 2011 at 10:39am That does make sense
Plus I think the mask makes him looks cavemanish
Comment by Happy Birthday Roboto on October 13, 2011 at 9:53am Oh yeas something else I noticed, for the Ironman movies we see inside the Ironman mask with the display on Tony STark's face, for the Spider-Man movies the mask was ripped up several times revealing the face of the actor, it looks like the directors wanted to show the faces of the actors, which maes sense, so that probably explains why in several shots of the film in the trailer we see Captain America without his mask on.

Comment by John Lemus on October 12, 2011 at 9:53pm I find it funny that hulk does not look like the art that was released recently. I am even warming up to whats his name from that movie with Leo Decap. I am also really enjoying how every one is playing off of each other especially Tony and Steve.
The first captures I saw of Thor I thought looked terrible. Now I feel that the even the earliest shots I have seen of The Avengers look great with the exception of the vanity fair shots with this guy had the zoolander face. I feel the shots of this movie are or have been equal to the shots I saw of Dark of The Moon. The first shots of the city and building being demolished looked fantastic. Now I am sad to say that the shots I have seen of Rise of the Dark Knight have been total shit and I feel like the movie with either fail to live up to the last two or be total shit. SO far I hear nothing but negative comments about the movie. Like how stupid Bane looks with his mask and how Catwomans costume looks too plain plus how odd the bat copter looks. I mean the only good comment I recall reading and hearing from people his how big Ann Hathaways ass looks in black vinyl. Same for the new Superman shots
Most of them have been terrible. I come on The fan made art for the next batman look better than the movie shots so far I mean look at this
