First Look At The New Robocop Suit
Much ado has been made of the casting of Jose Padilha's 'Robocop' remake, and we've even seen glimpses of the new ED-209. However, we've seen nothing to indicate what the new Robocop himself would look like. That is, until today. This image reveals Joel Kinnaman in a sleeker, more contemporary robo-suit. I don't have a problem with the new suit not looking much like the original, what would be the point of a shot-for-shot 'Robocop' remake? My issue is more that it just looks like a futuristic motorcycle suit and gives no indication that Murphy is half machine. I'm not too wild about it, but what do you guys think?
The new 'Robocop' is due in theaters August 9th, 2013

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... I kinda liked whole mech aspect of original, like was a product of Detroit industry, was a car motiff to the designs, a cynical subversive tone.
This design screams Batman motorcycle suit

The only thing I like about this costume is the visor / helm which, not coincidentally, is the only thing harkening back to the original Robocop.
I wanted them to go for a different look but I'm disappointed that there's little else to harken back to the original, like the metallic element. It makes me think of the Clash of the Titans remake that made the new Pegasus "hip" by going black.But what bothers me the most about the suit is how generic / derivative it looks to characters in media from Bale's Batman to Commander Shepard to G.I. Joe's "accelerator suits" to the upcoming pilots of Pacific Rim. It makes Murphy look less like a robotic man than a man in a black rubber suit.

It's bad enough they are going to stick with the name "ROBOCOP" let alone expect me to want to see a movie with this costume that is just as lame looking as the original lol

The original slit visor was such a badass touch and adding it to this (hopefully work in progress) version would be a great nod to the original. Like others on here are saying - a bit more mechanical articulation would be great.

I hope thats before they paint the necessary parts metallic gray....maybe this is prototype stage before deployment stage
