Coming Soon has gotten hold of the first teaser poster for next winter's The Smurfs, being directed by Raja Gosnell. The Columbia/Sony Pictures Animation project, based on the beloved animated series, will hit theaters on December 17th 2010. Check out the poster below:

I hated the smufs when I was a child, so I hate the picture and I hate this film, and it isn't going to be good

I am not opposed to this ....smurfs are harmless and the kids will love em....I bet you this movie will be better than those fucked up transformers movies...my sister used to go ape shit for smurfs..I liked gi joe, transformahs and Ma ma ma Mask

villian: i think that's exactly what they were attempting. there were these plastic/rubber figurines (forgot the company name) that looked exactly like that. i think what they did is they modeled based on those by using a very effective process that can copy the surface of a physical model (clay, foam, plastic, someone's face, what ever) and translates an exact 3D skin model for their software
