First Look at Shockwave from 'Dark of the Moon'

Source: Yahoo!

The newest promo pic for the Michael Bay film 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' has been released, and with it we get our first glimpse of the film's villain Shockwave. As Megatron's second-in-command and military leader, Shockwave leads the Decepticon forces into battle in the upcoming flick, which is sure to inconvenience Sam Witwicky's humdrum life once again:

lol You're thinking too much. The image is already out. Just because I worked on the environment doesnt mean I have to love the movie. Did I mention anything about the movie that hasn't come out in public yet? No. I am talking about the images that you and I can see right above. And the work that was done by whoever from whatever advertising firm, did a shitty job on these posters because what was given to them was a hell lot nicer to begin with. It's bad photoshop work, plain and simple. Nothing "internal" about that.

@Lio: Umm, if you did some work for the movie, wouldn't it be counter-productive to post negative critique of the movie's advertisement on a public forum/blog for job security, seeing as how the "poster boy" and you technically did work under the same client? I know the chances aren't that high that some studio execs are scanning sites ilke these for negative comments, or posts, but I'd think internal criticism might be the safest way to go. Not trying to censor you or anything, just sayin'. I guess if it was freelance stuff, than you may be more safe than I'm imagining. But still...

Sigh, it's so sad.

I created the background destruction that this poster is based on. Some poster boy totally ruined my paint work and probably got paid way more than me for doing such a shitty job. He or she added a lot of some ol' bullshit on top of my stuff and cranked up the contrast way too much. The Bumblebee one is the worst offender. Notice how the tall building on the far left side is literally cut out? Doesn't even follow the perspective line...

Spent about a month creating the left side environment, the original can be seen in the trailer. As for the right side, I did my own version for the movie, but this one is Digital Domain's version of it.

But either way, I am looking forward to seeing this movie in 3d.

@dyno ryder

Hate to disagree with you disagreeing with Bat22 but he has a point!

That said; The Fallen was never a big part of TF lore only the IDW comics and that too only a few of the miniserieses! "The Fallen" in the movie is The Fallen in name only, once you look past his name he'sjust some crappy Darth Sidious wannabe that they made up!

@Bat22 hate to disagree with you but The Fallen is actually a rather big character in the Transformer Universe more in the comics then actually in the cartoon show though. He is one of the original 13 transformers who was corrupted by Unicron and became his herald. I will say that who he was in bay's universe was totally wrong (though he could have taken over the decipticons at one point, not sure didnt read the comics much)

I should be happy that this is an existing Transformers villain and not something half-baked and thoroughly irrelevant figure like The Fallen.

But the stink and disappointment of Transformers 2 will still keep me away from this one. Like the opening post suggests, we may just be gearing up for Deceptacons Versus Sam Witwicky: The College Years season 2.

@Brooke
Nah, Transformers are definitely worth arguing about! ;P

@Brad G + Sumdilion
Guys let me just send a little respect your way by saying you each did the right thing setting the argument behind you, well done gentlemen. :)

As for my two cents, a lot of people say that the TF movies are good clean brainless fun, now I can only speak for myself and I do agree, but…

The problem was that the first had a logical (if not plausible) explanation on why giant robots would be on Earth and why they’d need to be disguised as Earth vehicles. But the second one has almost no story! My problem with the second one is not only does it not try to be good, not only is it dumb, it’s intentionally bad!

Instead of getting plot logic we have a meaningless back story, racist stereotypes and a whole lot of crap that didn’t make sense like Bumblebee forgetting he could talk, we had kiddie characters one moment and scenes with soldiers being violently killed the next! The filmmakers made some effort on the first but on the second they just threw logic away and did whatever they wanted because they thought it would look good or sound funny.

My problem with Mr. Bay isn’t that he makes dumb fun action movies, many people including myself pay money to watch such guilty pleasures, my problem is that he obviously thinks that we the people are so dumb we’ll be entertained by him not really making an effort.

I have been a huge TF fan for years, and like I said I can only speak for myself, but Bay has effectively taken my money and given me a shoddy product while wearing a smile, I’ll never watch another of his films again!

@Brad G

I'm sorry.  I know you weren't attacking him straight up.  It's just that so many people do, its gets to the point where something small like what you did gets to me.  I apologize.  And actually I cursed only because he cursed at me.  Look back and see.

@Dilster3000

If more people stood up for the small guy, things would get better.  I just said I'm annoyed by big shots, so why even begin to claim that I am one.  Because I'm defending to little guy, I think I'm big?  You definitely talking to the wrong person with that comment.  "Something big?"  Your comment needs to be towards everybody who speaks down on peoples opinion on this site.  Not me.  People ignore the soft spoken comment.  You have to be loud and compulsive to get your point across.
