Dreamworks has released the first clip from 'Fright Night' starring Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell. Yelchin plays high school senior Charlie Brewster who begins to suspect his new creepy neighbor Jerry (Farrell) is a vampire. In the scene, Jerry not-so-subtly attempts to intimidate Charlie by bringing up his mother (Toni Collette), and his girlfriend (Imogen Poots):

In between the smell of neglect and a high-school girl's "ripeness", I think it's fair to say that Colin Farrell is playing the role with every bit of skeezy uneasiness as the original. The horror comedy also stars Christopher Mintz-Plasse and David Tennant and will be out in 3D theaters on August 19th.

I miss the old Bela Legosi style vampire.  Where he's extravagant, sexually charged and dangerous all in one.  You see him and you know this is a guy you don't fuck with.  Nowadays it's like when you become a vampire you get your own selection of clothes out of fashion mags.  This dude does a decent job but I want to punch him in the face more than run away screaming like a 6 year old girl dousing myself with holy water the whole time.

Can't they make vampires more distinguised ? I Mean make em more vicious looking , a being that looks down on human kind . Geez vampires have been boring for so long , can't they just follow the vampire lore or whatever , make em more intresting. The vampire design in Buffy where one of the greatest in televisjon , not that the show was cheesy but overall it did have the look .

I'm not worried about Farrell, I'm more concerned about Tennant's Peter Vincent...I mean, why (I mean really...WHY) would a kid go to a Criss Angel-wannabe douchebag for help with a vampire? When you think of "magicians" do you really think "Hey they know lots about vampires! :D"

No. No you don't.

See, Ferrell is playing a vampire where he's practically BEGGING the protagonist to attack him. If memory serves, Chris Sarandon's Jerry was not nearly as blunt because vampires don't want to move AGAIN so soon after leaving the next town. They just wanted to feast in peace. I preferred Sarandon's Jerry because he never saw the kid as a threat and even let him off the hook a couple times. Ferrell's script calls to make Charley into a formidable foe.
