Gary LeVine posted a statusThe first footage of the Kickstarter funded Shadowrun Returns has shown up online. The game was one of the first major Kickstarter projects to extend well beyond its' original goal. The developers were hoping to raise $400,000 in funds for the game, but when they ended their 30 day fund raising period they closed out with $1.9 million. Now the developers have released a whopping 20 minutes of pre-alpha game play footage of the crowd sourced fan favorite complete with commentary by some of the designers. It is good to see some of these Kickstarter projects coming to fruition, and may signify the end of an era where only big publishers can decide what games can or can not be made,
Shadowrun Returns is slated for a summer of 2013 release for the PC.

Comment by Jordan Royter on March 8, 2013 at 6:34pm Very cool, I've been wanting a new Shadowrun game for a LONG time now! This looks like it can be really promising. I hope that you can fully customize your character into really specific details, and skills, magic, gear, look, race, and such. Thanks Lt, I'm gonna finish watching this for more.
Wish I could have added something to the donation, but I guess they have more than what needed. lol
Comment by Wodenson on March 8, 2013 at 3:30pm So looking forward to this game, backed at the $175 level and not regretting a penny of it so far. Absolutely love that the AI actually uses the grenades, so often in games they don't. I know some people aren't happy that kickstarter has turned into a preorder generator, but I am completely fine with it.
