It's actually Illidan Stormrage from The Burning Crusade. No joke.
Comment by Manuel Guardado on February 12, 2012 at 5:25pm if im not mistaken i heard Scar from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood at the end there
Comment by Shepard Tone on February 12, 2012 at 4:51am I've always enjoyed when they actually had orchestral soundtracks. Love when they get Nobuo Uematsu involved. Usually when he's not that's when I get disappointed by the music in series.
Comment by Shepard Tone on February 12, 2012 at 4:39am Also I still play FF7, FF8, and FF9 to this day. They are just fun. I think there are some cases where grinding is okay. I mean the Pokemon franchise is all about grinding, leveling up, and unlocking new powers or w/e.

I'm more excited by this, because it actually looks like they are doing some different things.
Comment by Tweetums on February 11, 2012 at 11:01am Spoony really did hit pretty much all of the complaints I have with VIII, though it's not like I'd loathe the game per se (with the exception of the Junction-system), just think that overall, it's not quite up to par with the rest.
And I agree that Eyes on Me is a nice song, and is among the better Vocalized songs from the games~
Haha well technically unless a person is somewhat of a "completionist", Blitzball shouldn't really be that big an issue, since after one game, it became completely optional.
I'm actually one of the jackasses who PLAYED blitzball for that....30+ hours during my completion run three years ago, and I'll be the first to admit that I can totally see why others would hate it, but for me, it didn't really evoke much emotions in good or bad.
...Especially since X-2 had a sidequest game that's far worse in my opinion i.e the Sphere Break or what-ever-it's-name-was. That I can dismiss as complete bullshit any day of the week.
happy birthday kevin! It's actually my birthday too!

I didn't remember disliking FF8 too much, but I was a young lad back then, and only when I watched Spoony's retrospective did I feel compelled to look back and coldly assess how shitty it was. The only fond memory I've retained is Eyes on Me - still a great song, even if it's associated with a shitty love story from one of the worse FFs.
And I suppose the battle systems were fine in X and X-2, but there was that whole thing with the...what was it called... oh yeah, blitzball. That was irritating. Very, very irritating. Almost as irritating as Tidus, may his character burn for all times.
In any case, I definitely empathize with your feelings towards the FF community at large.
Ok 4 all those People who want to see an VII remake let me get this out of the way.
Here it goes.........Square Enix IS NOT REMAKING VII
No matter how much you want it, no matter how much you plea, they are not making it again. Square has said this over and over again and the answer hasn't change. Pleasae stop bring it up because it was already addressed.
Comment by Tweetums on February 10, 2012 at 3:32pm Yeah, I did forget to say it in my rant-ish post, but you're right. When VII first came out in 1997 it really was revolutionary and vastly different from any of the previous Final Fantasies when it came to presentation and dramatic story telling.
It's a decent game even to me, just not the MostAmazing&GreatestGameEver and not even close to being my own "favorite" Final Fantasy. :'D
As for VIII... For me, it's the weakest of all the Final Fantasies with it's constant Asspull & DeusEx Machina plot AND the stupidass Junction-system that's just playing retarded.
Of course, there's still a loooot of people who adore VIII, so again...just IMO.
X and X-2 both have quite a few problems with their story telling as well, but both of 'em have a lot more solid feel to the gameplay (to me) so I'm generally able to look past the moments when the stories do pull out some of their less-thought-out moments.
Heck X-2 has my favorite Job-and Battle-systems, even if the Story is almost as dumb as VIIIs.
To your lil separate note.....yes, Ocarina of Time has a lot of the same things that make it almost unplayable/tedious to some people these days, like the Loading Bar 'emselves brought out in their 3Dremake review.
Personally, I still genuinely enjoy playing Ocarina of Time even today, so the problems that it has don't really matter to me, but for some reason the same sort of things just stick out like a sore thumb every time I try to play Final Fantasy VII (for example)
So if people can look past the problems the games have, that's awesome. But it just ticks me off every single time when I see people who bow down 100% to VII and refuse to see or admit any of the problems that some people have with it, and instead just start flaming them for not thinking of VII as the best Final Fantasy ever.
......It could very well be that the said fanbase just has made me so bitter towards it, that I'm just unable to enjoy playing VII no matter what.
