Ferris Bueller Returns...In A Super Bowl Commercial?

Ok, ok, I know this is a weird item on which to report. What we have here is essentially a teaser for a Super Bowl commercial. Why even bother mentioning it? Well in this case, the reason we submit it for your approval is that it features Matthew Broderick recreating a scene from 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' replete with sound bite from the film's iconic song. That's right, it looks like Ferris is back and taking his impressive talent for leisure to the Super Bowl. On the one hand, it will be sad to see one of my favorite 80s characters return to shill, well, whatever it is this ad ends up being for. On the other hand, one of my favorite 80s characters is returning! I have no doubt that the end result will be a disaster, but for now I'm just happy to see Bueller again. Take a look at the incredibly brief teaser below and let us know what you think.

The Super Bowl airs February 5th on NBC

It was a john hughes movie from the eighties. People would've still watched it. It just wouldn't have been one of the greatest comedies of all time without the fill cast.

I don't dislike this commercial but you can really feel the absence of Alan Ruck.

I wish he'd had a little cameo or something

if he was playing ferris again and had some of the original cast this would  be a pretty good short.ferris bueller's day off from work.could be room for a sequel in their.

I want to see the movie Broderick and Louie C.K. were trying to make.

if you want to know what a middle age ferris is like watch the hang over or old school.that would give you an idea.if they did make another one it would probably be a remake and i have had enough of those.a sequel  would probably be more intereating. if they brought back all the cast if possible and have a script like american pie.and have his son as more like Cameron Frye from 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' and the character to develop into more like his dad in the original.that way there is some character development like their is in most john hugh movies.or maybe have a darker approach that ferris turns in to a heartless corporate raider.i mean his dad in the original was a businessman and look at how the world of today is.also ferris did use people to some degree.that self assured confident could had turned in to cockiness or worst narcissism.ferris in that context could be a good villain.

HOw can someone handle work when they're almost 50? Whether or not it's the super bowl....

It's a setup for a Honda commercial that's written and directed by Todd Phillips.
