If it's crap ... We'll tell you
Exclusive Media Group (a conglomeration of several film studios including Hammer Films) is looking at Dwayne "Don't You Dare Say It" Johnson to star in their next action thriller 'Snitch'. The film centers around a suburban father who risks everything to go undercover as an informant and help the authorities build a case against a high-ranking drug dealer to reduce his son's 30 year mandatory drug sentence.
'Snitch' is based on a true story about a father named James Settembrino that was told on a PBS Frontline segment (also titled 'Snitch'). When Settembrino's son Joey was convicted of 10 years in prison (which he was clearly not able to handle), he asked his father to help him for fear he wouldn't survive. The film is written by Justin Haythe ('Revolutionary Road'), with a recent co-write by director and stuntman Ric Roman Waugh.
Johnson - who recently made a return to the action genre after a stint of family-friendly films - can next be seen in 'Fast Five', opening on April 29th.
