If it's crap ... We'll tell you

I truly do not understand why it was needed to remove Carlyle off the page banner. It doesn't make sense to me. Yea, he is gone; yea he is no longer a part of this site. But that doesn't mean he should "no longer" be apart of this site. He was an extremely promanate head member here and just because he left to aim his focus on other things shouldn't mean he should be forgotten.
When I looked up and saw his avatar removed from the site's banner, I felt so crushed because I know, from experience, this will be the first step of forgetting him. In one year's time, when old members look back to old reviews, they will go "Oh that's Carlyle. The guy who used to be here before.", only being reminded of that when they see him. New members will go "Wow. Who is this guy with the cap. I never seen or heard of him before" I don't want people to think of him like that. Some fading memory of what spill once was. Ask yourself. Would you cut Thomas Jefferson's head off of Mount Rushmore? Before the attackers here respond with "Why even compare this? You're stupid" Think about it. He (Carlyle) was one of the most iconic men of America's (Spill's) history. Without him, the country wouldn't be even close to what it is today. Just because he is gone and other presidents (Co-host) have took his place, does that mean his face should be completely removed from its canvas. No! I think it should always be there to remind us who he was and that "HE WAS HERE"
Im not reading minds or anything but whoever removed him, I think must not have thought this through and most likely had the mentality of "We'll he's gone from this site. No need to keep him on here. You know what. I'll erase him from this banner. No harm done. People all know he's gone anyway" I am truly scared to think what these people are going to do next. Will Carlye's segment at the beginning and end of video reviews with the number 4 on his cap be removed too? Are you just gonna remove every trace of Carlye on this site so that the only trifles of him you can find will be the obscure remains of old reviews and podcasts in the most shadowy corner of the archives? Korey, Fungusmonkey. Whoever is in charge with site development. Please put him back. I understand why you did it. But I don't think you understand how that will affect him in our minds and memories. Seeing him on this page banner everyday (Our only source of visualization other than the actual reviews) always reminded me and everyone else subconsciously that he was apart of this site. But now with him being gone from it, slowly and slowly our reminder of that will be gone. And in a years time when this site has evolved even more with you four, we will almost have completely forgot about him because there will be no longer any proof of him on this site. Please. Listen to my plea. Whoever does this don't be defensive for no reason just to keep him off. Understand our reasoning and bring him back. Taking him off this banner "IS" (not "is like") but "IS" erasing him from spill and none of us should be punished with forgetting him like we did another old spill reviewer, wherever she may be. :(

OMG! Yes! I also hate those responses. It's just the teenage, "I don't have a real argument, so let me just over exaggerate the point you're trying to make." Major Lol at Grant's outrageous "We should have 40 people up there" This is getting so childish and stupid I swear.

I have been on this site for 3 years and I had to make a profile just to say this. I know exactly what you mean about the banner. This site is running better and faster then ever and contrary to what MetalVirgin says, people will soon slowly forget about him, through all the parties, events, podcast, etc. Nobody's gonna go back to old podcasts; at least not people who already been on this site. So that's it. That's it for Carlyle. I totally understand. Why metalvirgin is responding so immaturely, and condescending with the smeary tattoo comment is beyond me. She's starting to sound really bitchy. They arn't listening. It's not about Carlyle but about respecting and remembrance. People should always come and see the original 5 on there to remind them how it used to be. If this ever blows up. Which I hope it doesn't, I got your back. Because now even work members of this site are being jerks and I really feel uncomfortable with that.

LoL @ "If you're gonna ban me"
It is advertising someone who isn't on the site. The banner is on the front page of the site so anyone who is new to the site will wonder why the heck we have a character that is never used....because in actuality that person no longer works for us. We're not asking people to swallow a pill to forget the character, but we're not going to cause confusion just because you feel bad about Carlyle leaving. Maybe you should get an "RIP Carlyle" Tattoo so you can remember him forever. Get it quick though cuz you might forget who he is now that he's not on the front page.
Comment by The Spill Crew on August 13, 2011 at 2:17am @Jordan - Ok, you believe what you want to believe. I can see that nothing any of us tell you is going to convince you that we thought this through (as you implied in your post). You asked us ("Korey, Fungusmonkey. Whoever is in charge with site development"), we answered. We're sorry you didn't like the answer you got, but that's still the answer. Whatever beef you have with Fungusmonkey is between you and him. We don't ban people for having opinions, we talk to them first, and then ban them if they continue to aggressively and rudely pursue said argument.
You'd like to have Carlyle put back on the main banner. Noted.
