Does the new Batman Movie need Robin?

The Christopher Nolan series of Batman movies, is about Batman, the early years. The question I have is does Batman, truly becomes the master when he takes on Robin/Dick Greyson as his ward. What I am not looking for is a repeat of the Batman and Robin movie.

If the first movie is about the journey of Bruce Wayne, from person to Batman. The second movie in this opera, is Bruce Wayne now fully as the Batman. Batman becoming the parent/teacher would be the natural progression for the character development.

The model for how this story should be handled is the Robin Origin story from the Animated Series. Again, robin could only appear at the end of the movie. But his inclusion in the series would end this begining phase of the Batman story, beginning the next chapters in his development.

No body wants another Batman and Robin and after Dark knight I give Christopher nolan the benefit of the doubt.

But my point is that Batman needs robin to complete his character. I am a fan of Joseph Cambell, and look for the hero's quest. With the Christopher Nolan movies, Batman has moved from student in the first movie, to dark knight in the next, with the third he needs to progress to master. In many narratives, one does not become a master until he takes a pupil.

I can see the movie ending with Batman agree to train a young Dick Greyson, say after Dick Greyson discovers the batcave. This brings a logical conclusion to the first story arc, the beginning of Batman and is a natural lead to the next.

Robin/Dick Greyson needs not be the focus of the movie.

Although I would like Robin in the Nolan Batmans, I think that it would take away from the ultra-realistic world it's in. But, my, god, no one wants another Batman & Robin!

No. We wouldn't want another Batman & Robin, they should keep him out of it until like 5th movie.
