MAK2.0 (The Hybrid) added a discussion to the group Planet Tyro - Anime & Manga EnthusiastsDisney•Pixar has unveiled the theatrical trailer for their first joint original film 'Brave'. Formerly titled 'The Bear and the Bow', the film was in the early stages of pre-production during the big Disney buy-out and was subsequently drastically overhauled by the Mouse House, making this the first original property the new company has produced. Had this film been released after their smash-hit 'Toy Story 3' it may not have to endure the same scrutiny it's currently undergoing, mostly due to the lackluster performance of this year's critical flop 'Cars 2'. Regardless, we now have our first look at 'Brave' - a coming of age story about Princess Merida (voiced by Kelly McDonald), a young woman whose desire to go against centuries of tradition unfurls a series of tragic events, and the journey she goes through in order to set it all right again.
Brave opens in US theatres June 22, 2012.

Comment by seth on November 19, 2011 at 1:19pm i can't wait to see this, finally a female protagonist in a pixar film. i hate to see the flack this movie is already getting, never judge a book by its cover guys.
Comment by Cinema Dr. AJ on November 19, 2011 at 12:53pm Shit this looks bad ass. Nice to see Disney straying away from that old princess archetype. I'm kind of excited to see this
Comment by Collin Mckinney on November 19, 2011 at 3:22am Wow umm sadly for a Pixar movie it just looks so unconvientally absolutely positively..................meh. I mean this looks like a compilation or scrapes of old story ideas put together. And I am getting a HTTYD feeling out of this. I may want to pass on this one and hold off for Monsters University and hopefully an Incredibles sequel. Sorry Pixar :(
Comment by Reggie Righteous on November 18, 2011 at 12:12pm Wow, am I the only one who got a "How to Train Your Dragon" vibe from this???
Comment by Miles Guidetti on November 18, 2011 at 3:21am Trailer made me say "Meehhh"
Comment by GorTheMovieGod on November 17, 2011 at 11:35pm The Borrowers looks much better then this. Still hoping it will be good though.
Comment by Quicksandbuddy on November 17, 2011 at 4:20pm I was really excited for this movie. This trailer severely dampened that excitement. *sigh* I haven't liked a Pixar film since Wall-E.
Comment by PoisonPirate on November 17, 2011 at 4:06pm Doesn't look like anything Pixars done before, which could be great or awful depending on how you look at it. I'm not completely floored by the trailer but I'll reserve judgement. Pixar trailers never give away the whole story.
I get the feeling there's a supernatural or magical element in the movie they don't want to spoil in the trailer. See all those little glowing blue things?
Comment by Donwun on November 17, 2011 at 2:27pm sigh.....does'nt look great...looks too goofy for me....i'll stick to anime this time
