Santos posted a blog postTruth be told, I was hooked by the first trailer for Jon Chu's 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' despite the fact that I didn't care for the first film. The sequel seemed slightly grittier, but with action sequences that looked to rival if not exceed those of the original. This latest trailer lends us a little more insight as to the extent of Cobra's infiltration of the White House, a few more comedic quips, and a state-sized crater full of destruction. Joe Colton (Bruce Willis) demands Girl Scout cookies and Cobra levels what appears to be an entire goddamned city! I'm still excited, but to be honest this trailer makes the sequel look more like 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra,' and that's not encouraging. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.
'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' hits theaters June 29th

Comment by TheMantaBluRay on April 24, 2012 at 2:01pm I like the first trailer better. But at least the possibility of a decent G.I. Joe flick is more likely than ever.
Comment by HeartsAlive on April 24, 2012 at 1:35pm I walked away from the first film pissed off after the flashback scene. But just when i thought i was out...they pull me back in.
Comment by Timmy Cupcakes on April 24, 2012 at 1:23pm I thought the first film was fun enough, even thoguh they messed up quite a bit. From what we have seen so far, this movie manages to get quite a bit right. The Rock as Roadblock, the new Cobra Commander outfit, Ray Stevenson, and larger settings all seem like improvements. Hopefully these trailers aren't showing all the best moments.
Comment by Curtis J Francois on April 24, 2012 at 1:12pm They actually blew up London. Paris I could understand but London!
Comment by El Capitan Mexico on April 24, 2012 at 12:30pm I'm liking this movie more and more. Whether Duke dies, goes AWOL, or is put in a coma I don't mind because in the cartoon the other Joes were much more interesting than him. At least, that is my opinion.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. He'll probably go AWOL due to a coma or being taken prisoner, then get a Big Damn Heroes moment later on at the end of the film.
@ Crazy-fool
I don't know, it actually feels like the Rock has been getting a whole lot of work lately, and is consistently well-received in his roles. I'm feeling good about his prospects.
Comment by Composite Who Horrible on April 24, 2012 at 12:07pm Wow... It sucks to live in Europe within the GI Joeniverse. First France, now England.
Comment by crazy-fool on April 24, 2012 at 11:51am Another best bits trailer. And poor Rock. May his career rest in peace.

@Ross Slick I don't think they're killing him off. I think he's gonna go into a coma and then come out at the end of the movie. ;-)
Comment by keh006 on April 24, 2012 at 11:39am I basically hated the first one but I am excited for this one. Can't wait for the ninja battle.
