'Despicable Me 2' Teaser Trailer
While I wasn't wild about Universal Pictures' 'Despicable Me,' I totally agree with the many, many folks who told me that the minions were far and away the best part of the movie. It therefore makes total sense that they would be the focus of the teaser trailer for the sequel. Here they perform a barbershop quartet rendition of 'Barbara Ann' in whatever language it is they speak; a few English words like "banana" and "potato chip" not withstanding. Well, I guess it's more of a barbershop trio with the fourth minion reminding us via noisemaker that the sequel, just as the original, will be in 3D. It's funny at first, but then wears out its welcome near the end, or at least that's how it struck me. Take a gander at the teaser below and let us know what you think.
'Despicable Me 2' is due in theaters July 3, 2013

2013, the original came out in 2010 right? If they are taking a good 3 or so years to make this sequel then expectations are going to be pretty high for this movie

These guys should learn how to not play by the books and actually make an animated film with some excitement and creativity. This was Illumination Entertainment's starting film and it wasn't all that interesting because, once again, it played by the books when it comes to its storytelling and joke. Although, I still have hope because not every start to a studio or director is going to be brilliant.

Hate to say it, but by the end I was chuckling. And I didn't hate the first movie despite itself. Still, I'm not looking forward to this one. This won't end well.
