I with Professor Jeff! I completely agree - ever since games entered the mainstream and have become available to a wider audience they have become easier and easier to ease non-gamers into the experience so people who've been playing games all their life find that they can plough through most games without any real difficulty. Not only does Dark Souls look and sound like the coolest type of fantasy RPG I've ever seen, but that difficulty draws me in - I don't want my hand being held through everything I do, I don't want the game telling I have to do this or I have to do that cos I want to do it myself. The internet's universal aversion to Dark Souls only draws me in more; if everyone says it's incredibly difficult, doesn't that only heighten your sense of achievement when you beat it? I haven't played it, though I can't think of any other game I'd rather play at the moment.

I had the chinese version of Demons Souls and I was able to beat it.

i am really surprised that someone can review the game after only playing through what sounded like part of the tutorial.  while i can accept that challenge may not be what the reviewer is after, giving an opinion after playing so little of the game seems like saying whether or not a movie is any good based solely on watching the opening credits.

So all this game has to offer is sense of accomplishment? Sorry, I get that from this thing I have, its called a life.

Ahhh this looks like such a cool game... But I get frustrated so easily, I dunno.

@Vyce Victus

Not to mention how over half of the games Savagestrikes mentioned have aged extremely poorly, the two clear exceptions being Half-Life and many of the Zelda titles.

In any case, I'm pretty sure the guy is trolling. He has to be.

I 100 percent agree with Jeff. I'm on my second playthrough right now and I can't get enough. But this game isn't for everyone and I can't blame Kevin for not liking it. It is a game very much about patience and learning. I love the multiplayer. I can only say that this game can be to unforgiving at times. Better than sex!

Great review Jeff you summed it up in one. Its a shame the others who haven't played the game bitch about it but have not even played it, they are missing out ...alot.

I picked this game up a few weeks ago and Im hooked, I was waiting for BATMAN , AND BATTLEFIELD but then played this and now ive forgotten there out soon!

Savagestrikes, I couldn't tell if you're just playing around/trolling, but people need to chill with that elitism shit. Having been able to play and conquer difficult challenges like NES ninja gaiden makes you "fortunate" not "better than other people". How could kids now have ever experienced these? I think it's clear that the way 10 year-olds mop the floor with adults in stuff like Halo or MW proof enough that the desire to hone ones edge and reflexes is just as prevalent now as ever before.

You know what a "Real Gamer" is? Somebody who picks up a game disc/cartridge, puts it in his consloe/ PC and plays games.

I was gonna say something about that dumb ass "black man' comment, but whatever.
