'Dark Knight Rises' Plot Details Revealed
It seems that the January 2012 issue of Empire Magazine is yielding more than just a couple of badass 'Dark Knight Rises' covers. An interview within the issue with director Christopher Nolan revealed a few interesting plot details. According to Nolan, 'The Dark Knight Rises' will not instantly continue the story as 'The Dark Knight' left it. In fact, the film will take place eight years after 'The Dark Knight.' He makes mention of Bruce Wayne being older and 'not in a great state.' In the issue there is also an interview with Tom Hardy in which he graphically details the ways in which Bane inflicts pain on his victims; including ripping off heads and tearing out spinal chords. Yeesh!
Frankly, given his track record, Nolan could have come out and revealed that funny hats and dancing bears were major 'Dark Knight Rises' plot points and I would happily accept it. However, this small snippet about Bruce Wayne is encouraging. I'm actually less interested in the fact that he's eight years older as I am in the fact that he's 'not in a great state.' If Nolan is following the 'Knightfall' storyline, it makes sense that Wayne would not be at his physical peak. Bane's entire plan, within that story, is to wear Batman down to his mental and physical breaking point before even challenging him mano y mano, and then pushing him past that breaking point to totally destroy him. So Nolan's remarks seem right in line with setting up this storyline. The interview with Hardy in which he describes all his various methods of destroying people was a nice cherry on top of Nolan's plot details.

1. Those photos could just be their first fight against each other.
2. You don't know if they will add CG effects in the final cut, remember Captain America? Chris Evans acted out all the scenes when he was small. If they can CG a big man to look like a weakling, I'm sure they can CG Bane a little bit.
3. Bane doesn't start out using venom, it comes to him later which might happen. The costume designer said the mask he wears says because he suffers through pain and the gas allows him to survive. Someone could introduce him to something called Venom to not only help his pain but enhance his strength. At least wait for a trailer before judging a movie that you haven't seen yet.
