Sad news out of New Orleans today. A locally hired crew member working on the upcoming 'G.I. Joe' sequel was killed yesterday in a tragic accident. According to reports, Mike Huber died when a high-powered scissor lift on which he was working fell over. Paramount has issued both their condolences to Huber's family and a statement asserting that the safety of their cast and crew is their top priority. Paramount will be cooperating with the agencies that will almost certainly investigate the accident. 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' began shooting in New Orleans in August.
It seems like just yesterday we were reporting on the stuntman who died on the set of 'The Expendables 2.' These are the types of stories we never want to have to write up. I'm not going to sit here and judge the studio for allowing this to happen because we don't know all the specifics of the accident, and frankly these posts should not be geared toward sensationalism. We report these incidents out of respect for the artists and craftsmen who give their lives in the pursuit of the art of film. Our hearts go out to Mr. Huber's family.
'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' hits theaters June 29, 2012

Comment by Yakuza01 on November 24, 2011 at 3:38pm Well, it did happen in the shooting of Dark Knight as well. It is very sad to hear this regardless. Makes you wonder if Jackie Chan made a deal with the devil. Watch the credits of Police Story III. That whole scene of the helicopter flying over Kuala Lumpur and him hanging from it is just crazy.
Condolences for his family. At least for him there will be no more suffering. May he rest in peace.

Unfortunatly even w/ the advance in technology injuries and death can happen to any stunt person. This is very sad. RIP Mr. Huber.
