If it's crap... We'll tell you

Claude Berri, one of France's best director/producer died yesterday following a brain stroke.

He leaves behind a remarkable portfolio. You might have heard about the recent Hunting and Gathering (Ensemble, c'est tout) a great romatic drama with Audrey Tautou but he also directed many of France's most interesting movies.

If you want to discover his great work, his taste for picturing human nature and profound love of intelligent and touching story telling, I recommend you to check out Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources, two of his early movies. Cult classics.

I adored "Jean de Florette" and "Manon Des Sources" although it has been forever since I've seen them. How sad.
