'Chuck's Zachary Levi To Join 'Thor 2?'

Not so long ago, the NBC series 'Chuck' took its final bow. For those unfamiliar, 'Chuck' follows a geeky electronics store employee who has a wealth of CIA/NSA information subliminally planted in his brain. Well, the series may have concluded, but star Zachary Levi is already eying new projects. Marvel is evidently looking to add Levi to the cast of 'Thor 2.' In fact, they are in early talks to offer him the role of Fandral, of The Warriors Three, in the Alan Taylor directed sequel. Fandral was played in the first film by Josh Dallas. Dallas will be unable to reprise the role due to his commitment with ABC's 'Once Upon a Time.' Though no official deal exists yet, negotiations are not expected to take long. Filming is slated to begin next month.

Well, if they had to replace someone from the original cast, I suppose we can be thankful it's one of The Warriors Three and not a more major character. I actually like Levi quite a bit. I only just started watching 'Chuck' on a friend's recommendation, and I find the guy to be sort of effortlessly charming. I also thought he was great as the voice of Flynn in Disney's 'Tangled.' I'm not sure what specifically I can see him bringing to this role, but on the other hand, I'd hazard that The Warriors Three will not be at the center of the sequel's plot. It is interesting to note that Levi was at one point in the running to play this part, but had to bow out of the film when 'Chuck' was temporarily brought back from cancellation to wrap things up.

What do you guys think? Any 'Chuck' fans out there? Are you excited about the prospect of Levi joining 'Thor 2?'

If the Warriors Three get a bigger role in the sequel, good for him. Otherwise, it's not really that big a deal.

Who Fuck Cares??? He will have what at most 5 to 10 lines? And some reaction shots?

Cary Elwes would have made a great Fandral.

I loved Chuck and after seeing  him in other projects where his natural charm worked so well for him, I'm eager to see if this role in Thor 2 will let him possibly stretch himself as an actor.  See if he's not all charm

This is actually a reversal of fortunes as this is why Levi couldn't take the role in the first film. Now he is, and the original actor can't because of his television commitments.

How Ironic Levi wasn't able to take the role before because of Chuck now it's the other way round huh guess the asgardian world and ours has a sense of humour

(.)_(.) Holy Crap! I didn't realize that was Josh Dallas! This news is eh, I'm sure they could repopulate the cast with more name actors, but since this is a Warriors Three role I suspect it will get the same treatment as last movie. Cameo at best.
