'Chuck's Zachary Levi To Join 'Thor 2?'

Not so long ago, the NBC series 'Chuck' took its final bow. For those unfamiliar, 'Chuck' follows a geeky electronics store employee who has a wealth of CIA/NSA information subliminally planted in his brain. Well, the series may have concluded, but star Zachary Levi is already eying new projects. Marvel is evidently looking to add Levi to the cast of 'Thor 2.' In fact, they are in early talks to offer him the role of Fandral, of The Warriors Three, in the Alan Taylor directed sequel. Fandral was played in the first film by Josh Dallas. Dallas will be unable to reprise the role due to his commitment with ABC's 'Once Upon a Time.' Though no official deal exists yet, negotiations are not expected to take long. Filming is slated to begin next month.

Well, if they had to replace someone from the original cast, I suppose we can be thankful it's one of The Warriors Three and not a more major character. I actually like Levi quite a bit. I only just started watching 'Chuck' on a friend's recommendation, and I find the guy to be sort of effortlessly charming. I also thought he was great as the voice of Flynn in Disney's 'Tangled.' I'm not sure what specifically I can see him bringing to this role, but on the other hand, I'd hazard that The Warriors Three will not be at the center of the sequel's plot. It is interesting to note that Levi was at one point in the running to play this part, but had to bow out of the film when 'Chuck' was temporarily brought back from cancellation to wrap things up.

What do you guys think? Any 'Chuck' fans out there? Are you excited about the prospect of Levi joining 'Thor 2?'

I only watched Season 1 of Chuck. Does anyone think he's right for the role? I wouldn't know.

I was a fan of Chuck, and I think Zachary Levi would be brilliant as Fandral. After all, as mentioned above, he WAS gonna play him in the last one anyway.

Yes, the Fandral role really needed a much bigger dose of smarminess.
