Chris Pine Eyeing Kurtzman's 'Welcome To People'

Source: THR

THR reports that Chris Pine is looking to reunite with his Star Trek screenwriter Alex Kurtzman for the prolific writers directorial debut, a family drama titled Welcome To People.

The story follows a man who must deliver $150,000 in cash to an alcoholic sister he didn't know he had after the death of their father. Without telling her who he is, the guy also gets involved in the life of her angry 12-year-old son.

Kurtzman wrote the screenplay years ago with his partner Roberto Orci and Jody Lambert. The pari are producing through their Kurtzman Orci Paper Products. Pine has yet to commit to the gig as he's juggling numerous projects around at the moment, including This Means War (which is shooting now) a Star Trek sequel and the new Jack Ryan film which he'll star in.

I really hope he does this movie, after hearing he probably won't be in Farragut North I was disappointed, but at least he's taking another intriguing drama.

I still think he would make a better Green Lantern than Ryan Reynolds.

Smart move, better not go the Sam Worthington route of taking as many Summer Blockbusters as you can get, people who do that never EVER reach that Brad Pitt George Clooney Johnny Depp A-lister stardom.

Star Trek sure did put this guy on the map.
I even want to see Unstoppable, as strange as that movie looks (and hoping that Tony Scott goes back to being "GOOD" Tony Scott...even though i just call that movie The Taking of Pelham 123-2.)
