Cheshire Cat's Top 10 Favorite Movies Of The Decade

Since everyone has made a Top 10 list, I feel I should make one as well. It took me a while, but it is. Mine you that this is solely MY personal opinion. I don't think these movies are going to be widely accepted as THE best of the decade, but I don't care. If you don't agree with this list, make your own list. Don't complain to me. BTW, there's a good chance that this list might change in the future. That said, let's get started!

#10: City Of God

Praised universally by the biggest film fans, there's really no reason to talk about it here. If you haven't seen it, you're making a big mistake.

#9: Children Of Men

I think the Star Wars prequels and the Transformers' movies have dumbed down America so much that they can't appreciate great art like this film here. Hailed to be a classic for years to come, the director has also created one of the most visually impressive movies out there.

#8: Amélie

Usually, I'm not huge on romance, but this was an exception. Why? Because the main focus of the movie isn't about finding a man, but finding happiness. With such likable characters, a fun protagonist, an amazing soundtrack, and beautiful imagery is more than enough to add this movie to my list.

#7: Let The Right One In

Much like the praise being spurted out by anyone who loves this movie, this is defenitely the best vampire movie out there right now. Those prepubescent girls can have their Twilight. I got the real stuff right here!

#6: Spirited Away

When I first saw this as a kid, I was floored by how cool this whole movie looked. As I got older, I came to appreciate this film for being more than just eye candy, but as a wildly inventive and original story being told through great 2-D animation.

#5: The Dark Knight

This film opened a lot of doors for me. Not only has someone taken the comic book genre, and made something amazing and real with it, but it also made me a film buff, and truly appreciate the art. While some older members of the site may not agree with me about placing this so high on the list, but this movie will have a special place in my heart for years to come.

#4: Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King

How could I forget the most epic Fantasy trilogy out there? Ever since I
saw these movies in the theater when I was a kid, I loved these movies.
However, it wasn't until I was older that I could truly appreciate
them(and understand them more.) Not only is the third movie the best of
the trilogy, but it's one of the best movies I've ever seen!

#3: Battle Royale

This is a near-perfect movie! While the violence might be a little exaggerated, it's still not something to laugh at. This movie is powerful and brutal. After watching it, I felt a force coming over me. Also, it had one of the best ending songs ever.

#2: Donnie Darko

My favorite psychological thriller to date! While it may be confusing at first, it really pays off once you understand. It's a shame that the director couldn't make another great movie after this(at this point.)

#1: WALL·E

I had a hard time choosing between this and The Incredibles because I love both intensely. However, in the end, it was obvious which one was superior. This movie changed my life forever. This is probably the only movie I've seen in the theater 20 times! I will never do anything this stupid like that again! The characters, the music, the visuals, just EVERYTHING in this movie is perfect to me. To me, this is one of those few perfect films. I will probably never experience something like this ever again. Thank you Pixar for making this movie!

Good List. You seen WALL-E 20 times in theatre? Wow, but I gotta ask: Did you pay for all those times you saw it in theatre? ;)
