If it's crap... We'll tell you

Damn, dude. I thought all the reviews for this game on the big websites were payed off by Activision or something, because it's getting the most amazing reviews! Well, I went out and bought it... they were definitely not payed off. This game kicks ass.

Let's start with the good aspects: It has the best single-player campaign I've ever played. (Of course, I haven't played Uncharted 2 yet...) There are moments in here that look like they'd be well suited for a movie, and a badass one at that. It's the most cinematic and engaging Single Player I've played in my life, and I cannot speak highly enough of it, and this is coming from a guy who was not anticipating the game AT ALL. I sold three games a few days ago and just sad "fu** it" and bought this game. The gameplay is straightforward in most segments: shoot people. Shoot people with goddamn awesome weapons including dual wielded auto-pistols, a sawed-off shotgun, auto shotguns and stinger missiles. Ah, but there are the parts you don't expect... I'm not going to ruin them for you, but watch out for the Airport and Space. (SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERS) There is a mission where you play as an under-cover agent in a terror organization. You walk into a Russian airport and just start unloading on people. It's a disgusting level, and I felt horrible for playing it, but It is a huge part of the story. Damn, Jack Thompson will be ALL OVER this game.(SPOILERSOVERSPOILERSOVER)
The sound in this game is like an ear orgasm. The backround effects and small things are what completes it, and in the big scenes (There are a sh**load, by the way) you'll need to turn it up real loud and just listen.
It's a beautiful game, too. One of the best looking I've ever played, actually. The character models are amazing, but it's the animations that really blew my mind. So much is happening around you, you may have to play a level twice just to take it all in.
As you expect, the multiplayer is great. Fun to sit down at home with some buddies or go online and play with a bunch of random dudes. I wasn't really in it for the multiplayer, but I know at least 3/4 of the audience for this game are, so let me just say you won't be dissapointed. A bit has changed, but not to the point where you won't feel at home pumping people full of lead online. (I didn't play online too much because, frankly, I suck and dying every ten seconds just doesn't suit me. If you have no patience, this game will not do for you.)

Now the bad:
There are some small graphical errors like annoyingly pixel-y shadows and a TINY bit of pop up with textures. Also, the single player campaign, much like Brutal Legend, is too short. Maybe I'm just a fast player, but I finished it in a day. Of course, this was on "Recruit", so I assume it'll take longer (and be more frustrating) on the higher levels.

So all in all, it's got an awesome single-player campaign, and great multiplayer that just wasn't for me, but it'll be great for the loyal fans. It's just a badass game.

Final Rating: 9
