In this our 68th episode of the Braingasm Podcast we are joined by resident Brony Scott Johnson (@scottpjthoughts), and Megan (Cesca's friend, ask her how to contact her). 

We began as we do every week by introducing Rainbow Dash and the McSwag. 

After that we BSed for a bit (not long) and then launched right in to What's Been Filling Our Voids. Ben got all Oprah on us by giving his latest instalment of his Audible.com Presents The Braingasm Book Club with Kevin Smith's autobiography: Tough Sh*t. This led into a lively and surprisingly informative discussion of movie studio accounting and why you should always get a percentage of the GROSS and not the NET. After that Scotty regaled us with tales of wonder and neon lights that was the Alice Cooper/Iron Maiden concert. 

After that we went to break as Cesca watched Rome burn. 

After the break we took a trip to the land of Ponyville (54:58-End) for a lengthy and in depth discussion of the

My Little Pony phenomenon. Even if you are not a Brony, or are even aware of what brony is this is still an interesting discussion merely from the standpoint of observing the emergence of a new geek subculture as it blooms for the first time. As you will hear the phenomenon has echoes of every other geek movement from the comic book nerds all the way to the Trekies. That and it's also pretty entertaining. All that in one discussion, give us a freaking Pulitzer you bald mother fu.... (sorry misplaced rage).

This was a good discussion and a good episode. It provides lots of laughs and even some deeper ideas to mull over until our next round of poop jokes. Go with flying spaghetti monster my friends.
