If it's crap... We'll tell you

I caught a special screening of Bolt in 3-D last night. Here's my review:

Disney's latest animated movie Bolt is a great family film. That being said, everyone will enjoy this. The movie is about a dog who grew up on TV and thinks that his owner Penny (voiced questionably by Miley Cyrus) has been kidnapped. He tries to go after her and meet 2 other animals on the way, Mittens & Rhino. It's basically a better road trip movie with animals that is animated. I personally found this movie awesome. Having no real knowledge of the film when I walked in might have helped. The beginning of the movie shows Bolt as a young puppy and it is one of the "aw" moments. Disney knew what they were doing when making this film because the first 15 minutes hooked a collar on me. There were two things about this movie that pushed it up from my original rating for the movie: Rhino & the Pigeons. Wow! Rhino is probably the best supporting character I've seen since the Joker. Every line and action that he is given is pure comedy. I found myself laughing out loud much more than I thought. The fact that he is just this overweight hamster made me love him even more. The pigeons were just funny because they are just there for no reason and yet steal the scene. The movie carries many messages and does have a good, wholesome ending. However, it was a little predictable but hey it is Disney. I tend to be biased on Disney, but I've grown to be fair. I treated this movie like any other, and still really had fun with it. My only complaints are mild. I didn't really like the voice-over by Miley Cyrus. She doesn't have the greatest animated voice, but I understand why they chose her (big appeal). Also, the 3-D wasn't as in-your-face as I had hoped or expected. However, that isn't bad since I usually get annoyed with 3-D gags. The RealD was incredible at some points. I wanted to reach out and take Rhino, Bolt, and Mittens home with me. All in all, the movie is very good for the family. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, but some parts were a little random and unnecessary. I'm going to go and give it a very very high MATINEE! or a low-ish FULL PRICE!! Ya know what, screw it. I will always watch Rhino....so I'll be nice and go FULL PRICE!!!
