Don't lie to me. Admit that ever since the first time you saw Pris in BladeRunner you've fantasized about what it would be like to have your own "pleasure model" replicant.
Oh, the possibilities! But alas, the technology hasn't been quite there.
...Until now
Meet "AIKO", the perfect robot wife invented by Uber-uber nerd Le Trung, who spent two years and £14,000 building his dream girl, but claims he only planned to make an android to care for the elderly.
"I have been watching Robot anime, since I was a kid. After watching Chobits and DearS, I have made up my mind that I will make a full human android on August 15,2007. All it takes is inspiration..."
"After many struggles, and exactly 1.5 months later I have finished Aiko version 1.0. On Novemeber 2,3,4 2007, Aiko made her first TV interview from Global news, and her first public apperance at the HobbyShow at Toronto International Center, and Ontario Science Center a week later. Aiko is bilingual, she can speak English and Japanese."
"Aiko was original designed to help our ageing population from making simple tea and coffee, telling them the weather, read the magazine, remind them to take the medication(s) at the correct time. There are many applications with Aiko from homes, at the offices, and public places."
Hmmn. Okay, sounds pretty wholesome and altruistic so far.
"My dream is to make Aiko walks, and do more house works in the future. I can't do without your donation support. The donation will go into Aiko new motors, sensors and mainboards (to design her new arm systems and legs)". According to The Sun:Le says his relationship with Aiko hasn’t strayed into the bedroom, but a few “tweaks” could turn her into a sexual partner.
Le said: “Her software could be redesigned to simulate her having an orgasm.”
AHA!! THERE WE GO! THAT'S WHAT EVERYBODY'S BEEN WAITING TO HEAR!
Now that we're talking serious business how about opening your checkbooks and getting ready to write a bunch a zeros? If you need more convincing here's Aiko's stats video of her in action:
Height 152cm Bust: 82cm Waist: 57cm Hip: 84cm
...Hmmn...okaaaaaay, maybe she's not quite there just yet. But Le Trung has high hopes for the future.
"It is my dream to have Aiko be as human-like as possible. I'm not sure if it is possible, but there is no way to find out unless I try." Aiko's future abilities:
1. Facial Expressions
2. Make tea and coffee
3. Feed me sushi
4. Make simple breakfast: eggs and bacon
5. If I lie my head down on Aiko lap, have her clean my ears with a Q-tip.
6. Ability to massage my shoulders and neck.
7. Able to do print and write
8. Clean the windows
9. Dust the shelves
10. Clean my toilet. (I hate cleaning the bathroom, might as well have someone else do it for me)
Maybe I'm making light of this but this dude is quite serious, and if you guys are the visionaries I know you to be you can send donations to him here.
Why, I'll bet if you kick in a little extra you can get a model that'll not talk when you're trying to watch TV.
"My priority for the donated money will go into the following research:
1) Sensation on Aiko’s Face (Done)
2) Taste Buds (to distinguish between different drinks) ($1000 estimate)
3) Proper hands for Aiko (Final Stage))
4) Make Aiko walk ($12,000 estimate)
Regards,
Le
And ladies, you might think about investing in the evolution of this technology yourselves, unless you're content to be stuck with this 1.0 model.
"Let's just say I'm very good at 'digital', if you know what I mean.Wink.Wink."
(NOTE: credit to Runba who quicker on the draw posting a link to the Sun article hours before me)
I like how she tells people no, I will not lick your foot-hahaha! He's doing something right with the programming. I wonder if we could program her to do cafeteria duty in middle school?
Co-Host likes real women. Besides, he's a boob himself!
As long as there's no chance of these robo-chicks getting some PMS virus I think it's cool. Finally, someone to play chess with!
I don't really think this will effect me in the near future, which is all I'm immediately concerned about (obviously).
I am shocked to find out that I am, in fact, NOT the only person to have seen Cherry 2000.

only in japan can this occur. it reminds me of a movie with ryan gosling awhile back only with a blow up doll than a robot.
Co Host finding having a female robotic compainion?...
Unless she has an attitude/doesnt like him, doubt co host will have time for spill

I don't know, this could be good news for Co-Host. He could have his own set of robotic "breastesses" to do whatever he thinks he can do with them...or whatever.
All of this is old news. They've been working on 'Life-like' sex dolls, and 'life-like' robotics in Japan for at least 2yrs now. I'm just surprised it's taken this long for them to catch on to it. I guess dropping about $5K is the breaking point between 'underground' and news. About a year ago, they were running around $7-8K, but now the price is lowered and it's 'News'??
