Due to lack of funds I wasn't able to see or play many new movies and games in 2010. So instead of a Top 10 like everyone else I will only be doing a Top 5. Also please keep in mind that the main reason some movie or game isn't on my list e.g. Social Network and Mass Effect 2. It's not because I hated them, I just didn't have enough money to see or play them. Without further ado here are my Top 5 Favourite Movies & Games of 2010.

5 - Super Meat Boy

Fun art, excellent controls and a gameplay design that makes you scream at the screen whenever you die, yet at the sametime glues you to the seat. Super Meat Boy packs a whole lot for what seems to be such a simple platforming experience.

4 - Limbo

If David Lynch made a platformer, Limbo would be that game. Mixing tight controls and challenging puzzle solving with a creepy atmosphere. Limbo provided a game that was quick to finish but not quick to forget.

3 - Call of Duty Black Ops

Treyarch finally catches up to Infinity Ward's level of quality with Call of Duty Black Ops. A crazy singleplayer, a fun zombie mod and addictive multiplayer. When it came to more bang for your buck Call of Duty Black Ops was easily among the best of the year.

2 - Starcraft 2

I wasn't the biggest fan of the first Starcraft, so putting number 2 so high on my list is saying somethings. Even though I suck at the multiplayer I still love playing it and the campaign itself was was so well directed that even people who didn't play the first could enjoy it to the fullest as well.

1 - Red Dead Redemption

We've had good, great and excellent sci-fi games. We've had good, great and excellent horror games. And we've had good, great and excellent strategy games. But we've never had excellent, great or even good western games.Well Rockstar skipped the good and the great, going instead for the excellent when it came to Red Dead Redemption. While I could go on about pretty much everything in the game, I'll instead only focus on one element, the atmosphere. Red Dead Redemption captures to a tee the atmosphere of being in a western, from the towns to the people to the great open plains. Red Dead Redemption felt like you were playing through all your favourite westerns at once.

5 - Kick Ass

Funny and action packed. Kick Ass delivered a comic book movie that was not only a great satire of the genre but also a funny yet thriller action movie.

4 - How To Train Your Dragon

I honestly thought this movie was going to be a piece of shit, like everyone else. But instead it turned out to be a movie that rivaled Toy Story 3 for best animated movie of the year. With a familiar yet still interesting tale, impressive animation and the best aeriel scenes I've ever seen in a movie, yes even better than Avatar. How To Train Your Dragon was the sleeper hit Dreamworks seems to be making for the last couple of years.

3 - Scott Pilgrim VS The World

A rom-com that explores the relationships of our generation, while masking itself as a comic book movie that plays out like a video game. Complicated? Yes. Funny, inventive, personal and overall fun. You bet your sweet ass it was.

2 - Inception

I understand why people think this movie is good not great, Leon. But I still enjoyed myself throughly. Yeah it wasn't as trippy as other dream oriented movie but it was still very interesting and cool what Christopher Nolan did with his own version of the dream world. Couple in an excellent cast who give their all, some great fight scenes and an amazing soundtrack. Inception may not be The Dark Knight but damn does it come close.

1 - Toy Story 3

15 years to finish a trilogy about kids toys who come to life. Sounds pathetic doesn't it. Well Pixar managed to make this trilogy rival such greats as The Godfather and Lord of the Rings. Funny yet heartbreaking, action packed yet character driven, Pixar was able to make a movie that the kids 15 years ago balled their eyes out to in 2010.
