If it's crap... We'll tell you

Source: US Magazine

US Magazine recently heard from Transformers director Michael Bay, who responded to some negative comments that Megan Fox said about him and his latest film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Fox told Entertainment Weekly: "I mean, I can't s--- on this movie because it did give me a career and open all these doors for me. But I don't want to blow smoke up people's a--. People are well aware that this is not a movie about acting."

Bay responded, saying, "Well, that's Megan Fox for you. She says some very ridiculous things because she's 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do. You roll your eyes when you see statements like that and think, 'Okay Megan, you can do whatever you want. I got it'."

As for the film itself, Bay says he "100 percent disagrees" with Fox.

"Nic Cage wasn't a big actor when I cast him, nor was Ben Affleck. before I put him in Armageddon. Shia LaBeouf wasn't a big movie star before he did Transformers -- and then he exploded. Not to mention Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, from Bad Boys," he points out.

Bay also thinks Fox could be a little more grateful: "Nobody in the world knew about Megan Fox until I found her and put her in Transformers. I like to think that I've had some luck in building actors' careers with my films."

This movie had a script about as thick as your average Best Buy ad how the hell can anyone say that it was remotely about the acting. However, she really not bite the hand that fed her because I'm sure before she landed her role in Transformers she was just another pretty face in Hollywood out scraping for whatever bit part she could land.

Chig Champa you are so right, I was looking up a ton of stuff and most of these were famous before he ever met them.

@ Cinema Dr. AJ: Have you ever seen Six Degrees of Seperation? "Will Smith was crap on the big screen until bad boys". I'll warn you. It doesn't have explosions or cheesy lines in it so it might not be your cuppa.

There's arrogance, and then there's Bay. Fox is no smart cookie, but she's honest enough to say what everybody knows than stick to the usual fluff of how "great" everybody was, or how she "learned a lot from everybody on set."

I've never once seen an interview where Bay hasn't claimed he's "discovered" or "found" an actor. He even said similar things about Scarlett Johansson in The Island's commentary track, and how he could make anybody an action star.

Nicholas Cage was a star after Raising Arizona and Moonstruck. Will Smith's biggest movies were Independence Day and MIB. Ben Affleck made famous for Chasing Amy and Good Will Hunting looooong before Bay "discovered" him.

Bay is an egomaniac. If he thinks he's a starmaker, what's his excuse for The Island and Pearl Harbor?

theres no way Bay can think its a movie about acting unless he's a retard, its a movie for explosions and cool robots accept it

Hahaha, now he's claiming to have made all these people movie stars?

Smith had his own wildly popular TV show, added to the fact that he didn't really hit it big with Bad Boys, he had to wait another year for Independence Day.

Lawrence also had his own TV show, and he never became anything more than a somewhat enjoyable B movie actor.
Unless Bay is attempting to vicariously take credit for the cinematic Holocausts of Big Momma's House 1&2... all the more reason to hate him...

Nicolas Cage was very well known before being cast in The Rock. In fact he had just won an Oscar for his work the year before in Leaving Las Vegas.
I recall seeing an awards show in which Michael Bay told Nic Cage "Hey, I made you a movie star!"
A statement at which Cage rolled his eyes so hard it was a wonder the wind didn't knock Bay on his ass.

Ben Affleck also became a household name well before appearing in Armageddon, thanks to winning an Oscar for his work with Matt Damon on Good Will Hunting.

And regardless of how hard Hollywood has been shoving him down our throats, Shia LaDouche will never be a big actor.
In fact I've spoken with several people who specifically avoid any film he's in.

It should also be noted that for every film mentioned aside from Transformers, all the casting decisions were most likely made by none other than the Douchebag Producer Supreme himself, Jerry Bruckheimer.
