If it's crap... We'll tell you

Source: US Magazine

US Magazine recently heard from Transformers director Michael Bay, who responded to some negative comments that Megan Fox said about him and his latest film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Fox told Entertainment Weekly: "I mean, I can't s--- on this movie because it did give me a career and open all these doors for me. But I don't want to blow smoke up people's a--. People are well aware that this is not a movie about acting."

Bay responded, saying, "Well, that's Megan Fox for you. She says some very ridiculous things because she's 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do. You roll your eyes when you see statements like that and think, 'Okay Megan, you can do whatever you want. I got it'."

As for the film itself, Bay says he "100 percent disagrees" with Fox.

"Nic Cage wasn't a big actor when I cast him, nor was Ben Affleck. before I put him in Armageddon. Shia LaBeouf wasn't a big movie star before he did Transformers -- and then he exploded. Not to mention Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, from Bad Boys," he points out.

Bay also thinks Fox could be a little more grateful: "Nobody in the world knew about Megan Fox until I found her and put her in Transformers. I like to think that I've had some luck in building actors' careers with my films."

She doesn't actually remember seeing her, it's kinda obvious her parents told her that she was on tv when she was born

She's still an actress (a young one who has only been in 4 movies and a few tv shows, i wouldn't expect her to win awards. it's not like her movie roles qualify for that kinda thing anyway)

it's clear she was joking, but still, you are saying that your religion dictates how you should think about everything, which is just untrue. now, it may not be catholic of her to say that, but it is honest, which is much more acceptable (and intelligent) to me than conforming with your religion. its like saying democrats should never vote republican and republicans should never vote democrat

Labeouf is famous because of Spielberg, Not Bay.

If anyone watched the interview of megan fox with Jimmy Kimmel, she kinda much slams Bay. Though Bay's quote he is so pissed lol.

This is the second part

Some comments below mine seem to think Fox is wrong because Bay is right about discovering her but she admits to that. What they said could both be true, but personally I think Bay is wrong about all the actors besides Fox and LaBeouf (and I don't see them become real stars). Most of the actors he mentioned got their big break before Bay's movie and just got a part in a big summer blockbuster. These movies are usually succesful and rarely due to Bay's part in them, but yes they do reach a bigger audience. And most (if not all) of the actors he mentioned would have reached the status they have today eventually. Especially taking credit for Cage and Smith is laughable. I'll let him take credit for Lawrence because that's how I see Fox ending up, LaBeouf might still have a shot if people stop hating him.

KrissKross you just said that she is smarter than most actresses nowadays. I offer you contrary proof:

(When asked why Megan Fox got a Marilyn Monroe tattoo on her arm) and I quote- "She was one of the first people I saw on television, like, literally moments after I was born."

Yea, I remember lots of stuff from literally moments after I was born too! like what was on t.v. at the time! hooray!

Megan Fox thinks she's an actress? She's been nominated for 4 Teen Choice Awards. that doesn't make you an actress (she has won none of them by the way)

Fox is also Catholic. Now, what I'm about to quote her on is the last thing I'd ever expect to see a Catholic say:

While promoting Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in June 2009, Fox was asked how she would stop Megatron from demolishing the world, Fox replied, and I quote:

"I'd make a deal with him and instead of the entire planet, can you just take out all of the white trash, hillbilly, anti-gay, super bible-beating people in Middle America?"

How.... Catholic of you? Now, in no way to I agree or disagree with what she said. My opinion on the matters that she adressed above is not the point. It is the fact that she openly contradicts herself- and that's why I put this quote in here. Please don't misunderstand me here, but understand- offering up all the Bible-thumpers and Gay-bashers in middle America to a space robot to destroy is sort of against Catholisicm... no?

Michael Bay actually makes some valid arguments about building movie careers especially with Will Smith who first blockbuster smash was Bad Boys, he then went to Independence Day and other hits like Men In Black and I Am Legend. Now he is one of top selling actors around. I'm not saying Will Smith couldn't have done this without Michael Bay, I'm just saying in his case Michael Bay helped out a lot.

As for Megan Fox's statements, she is absolutely right. In most Michael Bay movies the acting is not matters most, its the action. The acting just has to be good enough, not great. I think the only movie he did that struck an emotional chord was Armageddon, but even that ended up being cheesy and predictable, but awesome at the same time.

Megan Fox, seems more intelligent than I give her credit for.
KrissKross Comment by KrissKross on July 2, 2009 at 2:16pm
she said its not about acting not actors

actors may get big with these movies, but that doesn't mean theyre any good in them (but they could be) and megan is right, people dont go to his movies for acting, they go for action. and hes good at action.

and megan fox is at least smarter than a lot of the actresses nowadays anyway (not that smart but still)

Great&PowerfulTurtle- why don't you actually try to understand from a different perspective for once? Read what megan fox said and tell me she isnt a total idiot.

Sure, Bay's movies may not be the first time we saw Will Smith, but look at his career. Bay's movie is easily arguably his first big ones. I'm not saying Bay is a cinematic genius, he isn't close, but its funny to see people side with megan fox over this because of the bandwagon bay-hating and the common misconception that megan fox is the hottest thing ever and so obviously she can't be an idiot.

Although, this isn't your normal viewpoint so I'll warn you-- thinking I may actually have a point is most likely not your cuppa.
