Bay Could Be Directing 'Trans4mers' After All

At one point, Michael Bay ('Transformers 1-3', 'Bad Boys') had said that he would not direct another 'Transformers' movie. But like those of certain professional athletes, Bay's retirement from the franchise was short-lived. Sources now indicate that Bay is in final negotiations to direct 'Transformers 4,' to be referred to henceforth in this article as 'Trans4mers.' Paramount is apparently using a project Bay has been eying for a long time, 'Pain and Gain,' as tit-for-tat leverage to get him to return to the shape-shifting robot series. One insider claims the deal could be closed as early as next week. The plot details for 'Trans4mers' have not been revealed, but it appears the only relative certainty is that it will not be a prequel. If the deal is finalized, as those close to the situation are optimistic will occur, Bay will most likely begin shooting 'Pain and Gain' as early as Spring before starting 'Trans4mers'in late 2012.

Part of me wants to be upset that Bay is returning to the 'Transformers'  franchise. The last two movies managed varying degrees of awful and I have no interest in seeing Bay drive another installment into the ground. But honesty, I don't know as we need another 'Transformers' movie at all regardless of who is sitting in the director's chair. Has the well not run dry on these films? Isn't there only so much one can do with transforming robots from outer space? In the interest of full disclosure, I will admit that I don't count myself an avid fan of either the toy line or the cartoon series so maybe I'm not the right person to assess the necessity for another film. But I would suspect that even fans of the source material cannot be terribly thrilled that Bay is returning to the film franchise.

'Transformers' fans, sound off. Do you want to see another film? Are you happy Bay is back behind the camera?

Well saw this coming...wish I hadn't though and I seriously hope that "Trans4mers" isn't the actual title, there's only so much lame that you can put into a movie that you know is already gonna get a lot of flack!

@ Darth Siskel - I'm with you. I loved the first one; it basically was a nostalgia piece for me.  The second one shitted on that one, and the third one shitted on that one.  I won't watch the fourth one unless it's on TNT.  Either that, or if I win a free ticket.

Either do a reboot or move onto Generation 2 transformers.

Was hoping for a reboot but...ah well. Another Transformers movie a won't go 'n see.

BUT to this day, I will still defend the first movie.

Its sad because war for cybertron, beast wars and transformer animated on cartoon network prove that they can do it better. My biggest hate about these movies is the toys. Because in a movie full of f*** and sexual innuendos, its trying to sell its toys to 8-9 year olds. Thats despicable

They are going to be "Zombie Robots"

I've given up trying think of some sort of insult to Michael Bay because if he really is directing another one (how they're gonna do it with Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, AND Shockwave dead I don't know) I'm not going to see it and after being fucked for two movies I'm standing my ground. This is my future reaction when it's confirmed

Oh, god. just fire Bay and reboot the films!
