Awesome Struzan-Inspired Poster for 'Super 8'

Source: Cine1

Just in time for the film's premiere this weekend, there is a brand new poster floating around the internet for J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg's 'Super 8'. While some sites are incorrectly attributing it to artist Drew Struzan (famed illustrator of such classic posters as the Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, and Star Wars series), it doesn't seem to have the artist's typical sketchy pencils or subtle attention to detail. While it's most likely a fan created work influenced heavily by Struzan, it's still cool enough to be getting wide attention:

What do you think, Spillios? Do you prefer photographic or painted posters? Or maybe something more evocative? What's your favorite movie poster? Post a comment below and let us know!

@Jordan Hoffman studios and some film makers don't understand that the smallest marketing decision can make an experience special even to the poster presentation. I think it will only trend if Super 8 makes alot of money then we could see a change in spoiler free marketing in Hollywood the only good non painted poster i can think of is the fist Iron man..but knowing Hollywood aint shit gonna change

I think they should use it theatrically. Struzan is retired. Bring back the painted-posters!

Nothing compares to actual Struzan. They shouldn;t use this theatrically, I'd say, because you can't help but compare it to his far superior work.

@Cthulhu

I see what you mean!  ;P

But I was thinking more along the lines of a picture of an egg hatching, no more info needed all we know is some sort of alien creature will be born, our natural curiosity will make us ask, what kind of creature, what will it do? These days it's all about a mugshot of the actor, but I shouldn't complain, a good film is a good film regardless of the poster!

if you want something like struzan, then use struzan.

I'd like to see a painted poster for Captain America, actually.

What a waste of a painted poster, why couldn't we see one of these for First Class. Hell, even Thor.

For people wondering, I saw it yesterday and damn it was impressive, do not miss it

Crystal Skull's poster was fantastic, a lot better than the movie, said the rabid Indiana Jones fan. :(
