Avengers Finding Female Sidekick

During an interview on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Samuel L. Jackson revealed there will be screen tests this week for five potential actresses to play the role of Nick Fury's partner in the upcoming The Avengers film. It's being reported that Morena Baccarin (V) is the likely front runner on a list that also includes Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield), Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs The World).
Marvel has yet to comment on the specific character currently being pined for. Though fans speculate the most likely candidates are between The Wasp and Maria Hill.
The Wasp, known as one of the original founding members of The Avengers, has had rumors floating around of being in the film adaptation since first announcement of the project. Though there is a chance she will make it into the film, it seems unlikely that she would be playing sidekick to S.H.I.E.L.D. Director.
Keeping S.H.I.E.L.D. in mind, Maria Hill would make perfect sense for the role of sidekick as she took over as Director after Fury went AWOL during the Secret Invasion storyline. Comparing Hill to hopeful actress Baccarin it is easy to make the assumption that she will be found at Sam Jackson's side in The Avengers.

i think they will go with Maria Hill, cause if you do the Wasp, you atleast have to show Ant-Man as well whch means they would have to either do a movie for him or jst breifly mention him in the movie, and that is to much of a hasle

as much as that lady from "V" looks like her and could be a good pick...i cant help but think of how AWFUL that piece of shit show is.
"V"...anytime i ATTEMPT to sit through an episode..i think of all the better things i could be doing besides watching that crap. Hell...i never saw a full episode of Jersey Shore, but i was actually thinking that SHORE would be more entertaining.
Who would think that an ALIEN INVASION series would be so dull and should only be on the network that all the other bullshit shows and movies end up on...SyFy...the biggest piece of shit channel there is these days.
like i said, if she wasnt in "V" id say her.....BUT since the girl from Scott Pilgrim and Cloverfield would be much better...ACTORS...then probably one of them.

This film is going to be the end of all comic book films for at least a decade after it comes out I reckon. There are some things that should be left the way they are, and 'The Avengers' is one of them.

Morena Baccarin has been great in every role she has ever taken on and she is super hot. If they pick her no matter for what character she can't fail.
I have read on line she takes direction well and she is lots of fun to work with.
