QuickKick posted a photoIt was less than a week ago that the first images from the set of James Mangold's 'The Wolverine,' but already we've got more to report. Apparently, the film is in its first days of shooting and its first location is a WWII era Japanese POW camp. The set was built in Kurnell, Australia and a local news crew got some pretty interesting footage of the location. They also insert footage of Hugh Jackman talking about how happy he is to be shooting this film, at least partially, in his native country. Take a look at the video below and let us know what you think.

Comment by Tony*22 on August 1, 2012 at 10:41pm Hugh Jackman is finer than a motherfucker... And Wolverine has ALWAYS been my only comic crush since i was little kid.
So based on that alone (and the fact that im willing to look past the abysmal garbage of the last movie)... I'm going to keep my hopes up and watch this one when it comes out.
...Not in theaters though. I aint wasting hard earned $ on this...I'm not THAT hopeful ಠ_ಠ !
Oh god they had to put the Prime Minister on, Sorry to all who had to see that :) agree its weird seeing our news on this site
Comment by Aidan Mungai on August 1, 2012 at 4:57am weird seeing aus news on this site. good though. didn't even know they'd started filming. so if this is set in ww2? and he fought in ww2 in the start of the last film, so is this a flashback bit where he still has his bone claws? or am i thinking to hard about it?
Comment by Sepulter Jim on August 1, 2012 at 3:10am Am I the only one that doesn't really like how it's called,"The Wolverine", instead of just, "Wolverine"? Idk he's not known as the wolverine, he's just wolverine
Comment by Todd A. on July 31, 2012 at 10:38pm X-Men First Class was good. Hopefully they can step it up and help us forget about that horrible movie called X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Wow. Being from Australia, its strange to see our local news footage on this site.
Comment by Hexadecimal on July 31, 2012 at 6:30pm You know, I really like the character of Wolverine and Jackman, but aren't there other awesome Marvel characters to focus on? Why are we still watching movies about Wolverine?
Fuck Wolverine and fuck Fox.
