I was pretty exited for this show when I heard about it, I think Michael Ian Black is an awesome comedian, but I had no idea who Michael Showalter is. However, after seeing this show, I wish I had. This show is great!! Yay.
The show goes like this, Michael and Michael have a show together, (I forgot what it's called.) and various antics occur when they try to 1-Up each other in anyway possible off-set. This first episode is mainly about this kid, Greg the intern. He's writing a article about the show for his high school newspaper, so the two do wacky things to try and look better in that article Greg is writing. Not the most original plot in the world, but it works pretty well for this show.
So now that we got that out of the way, now on to the actual humor. Well not absolutely everything works, but when a joke does work, it works extremely well. The jokes that fail are just the ones you can kinda see coming. But all the jokes that are great definitely outnumber the lame ones. Not much else to say on that note. It's funny, WATCH IT.
Well I still don't give out scores to stuff. If you scrolled down here just to see what I'd give it, just read the review. The show can really only go up from here, and I hope to hear more peoples opinions on it. It's probably gonna air again soon, so go and watch it whenever you can.
I loved the initial episode....I want this show to catch on (because I like both Michaels and want them to have a successful show) but I don't think it will. It's a weird time slot (although it's in a spot where it's not competing with a lot) and a weird type of sketch comedy show.
Which Michael, CH? They were both in Stella. Also both were involved with the State and Wet Hot American Summer, along with David Wain, who directed Role Models.
For those of you interested with a PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, apparently there's been a mod in development to replicate the Modern Warfare style gun fighting in a Star Wars setting. The public beta should be released December 11.
