@DSWynne

uhm...what the hell does atheism have to do with the Tuskegee Experiments?

and lets not forget the times when religion has lead to "complete amorality". i'm pretty sure i don't need to name the examples.

I think I'll skip this and just play Bioshock again; less Randroids and more drill-wielding divers.

Wow. Didn't know this movie would get people so worked up, politically. I never read the book, nor was it ever mentioned when I was in school. Based on the synopsis, and trailer, this was an easy pass. Movies like this, especially politically driven ones, can be fairly boring. I leave those discussions to Michael Moore...and then ignore him some more...

It's fun to see the political and economic discussion this movie stirs up with all you fine American (and some German) Spillios.  I don't think the film's getting released in Canada (a country that functions fine with Socialists in government and no "Tea Party" or Libertarians lol, and is more economically sound than the US or Europe after the crisis) so you guys are my gauge for the impact and relevance of this film.

Trains?  If it's not Last Train to Clarksville or the LDT Bulls&%t Express, I'm not interested.

@leon atheism can lead to complete amorally.  that's why the Tuskegee Experiments occurred.

Putting the movie aside, I find it fascinating that those who advocate wealth redistribution are typically academics who never ran a business, and have the gall to feel morally superior enough to tell businesses the "proper" way to conduct their businesses...

It's looks like a bad tv movie...

@Tom Verheyleweghen I tip my head to you Sir. That´s exactly how I view the situation, from my point of view being in Germany. But we have the problem of being under conservative-liberal rule right now. The liberals have done nothing but lobby politics catering to the rich and the industry. They care much more for their "trains and rails" as for the common people and that´s a shame.

But overall Germany is, even under the conservative-liberal rule, a socialistic country, a country that cares for all his citizens, even the poor. I don´t understand how "socialist" in the US has become a word to condemn politicians.

I gues the majority of the US citizens still believe the propaganda that their country is the country of the free, in which everybody is capable to achive everything,- the american dream.

One of my all-time favorite quotes when it comes to the book "Atlas Shrugged" is:

"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs"
