Jeff I think the hood could work as long as they ad a camo index like in mgs3, imagine him lying face down in the snow while wearing all white, he would be like 85% camo, minus the straps and weapons. and enzio would occasionally take his hood off in the 2cd, 3rd, and 4th game. So don't worry to much.

@ Nick Hodges

I didn't want to get you going on a rant. This seems to be a topic that you are passionate about. In my own ignorance I haven't seen Apocalypse Now or Casualties of War but I never viewed the American Soldiers as bad guys in Full Metal Jacket or Platoon. Harsh and immoral as they were, they still weren't the bad guys. Put it simply I didn't have my fingers crossed hoping the Vietcong would win. Although I admit I was speaking broadly about Americans rarely ever being portrayed as bad guys in war movies.

But don't take that as though I think movies are a factual portrayal of history, as "The Patriot" goes it is far from being an accurate telling of history. Although people who go around thinking that do piss me off. Needless to say that the "Manifest Destiny" period is not a bright spot in our history, genocide is hardly a fun topic. I understand about not forgetting true events that happened in our history, unfortunately most people do forget or don't wish to learn about history and rely on movies and headlines to dictate their knowledge of the past.

It is fascinating when a book, movie, or video game puts its setting during a period in history that's rarely done and remains faithful with the actual history of that time period. That is one of the things that makes the Assassin's Creed series so appealing and unique.

I must admit that I do enjoy a spirited debate, but that is not why we are here on the AC3 Trailer Talk. I would like to think that we are all here because of our mutual passion for the Assassin Creed series and to hear what the Loading Bar hopes for and thinks about the installment of AC.

Fun fact, White colonist invented scalping, some Native Americans just started scalping colonist out of revenge.

@Jace Wang

Listen to the whole thing before you comment. They talked about an Assassin's Creed based in the Civil War at the beginning but then talked about how it's set in the Revolutionary War.

Damn loading bar, how did you get the Civil war and revolutionary war mixed up. Although comedy gold

As far as the costume goes, I think the hood is the most iconic.  The hood is fine with some tinkering.  It's the body having that long coat that is the most distracting (for me at least).  I think the hood can work.  Like you guys pointed out, he would have a very recognizable face, so when/if he removes his coat later he can be a whole other person.  Maybe that'll play into the story, not quite living a double life but at least putting on different fronts.  Probably not...  The point is:

I want to be friends with George Washington!  (Sxe Phil)

Scalping was created by the US military.  At one time when the early US Military hired Natives to kill other natives, they would pay per person, based on how many bunches of hair they brought in (the idea being a bunch of hair or a braid equaled one dead Indian.)  Then they realized that these assassins were were dividing the hair up to get more pay.  So they changed it saying that the assassins had to bring in the scalp and hair to prove that it's one Indian, not that they split the hair up.  Since Cat's not here, I thought I'd drop some knowledge. :)
