Does Fungus Monkey like anything? Sounds like he likes Complaining, yeah AC 3 was disappointing, but from the review and this, it sounds like you dont really AC that much

Just completed the 3rd game and  100% agree with every thing said in this spoiler cast great game but they really dropped the ball on some pivotal story elements in this series..

Isn't there something called 'ancestral memory' or something like that? The example I read about was Aboriginies in Australia fearing and describing extinct animals to explorers because they still recalled them through a shared ancestral memories of them. It was something like that, I don't mean they had connected memories, but it might have sort of been like how you don't need someone to tell you a lion is dangerous, you KNOW it is dangerous even without ever knowing they exist.

I really don't understand the hullabaloo around the story of a guy who can tap in to the memories of his ancestors THAT'S NOT HOW MEMORIES WORK DAMMIT! Don't get me wrong, the gameplay is fun, but the story smells like stephanie meter's take on science-fiction. I played the game muted after a while because the story just got too fucking stoooopid for my taste and was ruining an otherwise fun game

@Fungusmonkey The ending was more Sequel Bait, given next gen coming up, its more then likely. But one idea that was tossed in a line of dialog between Shaun and Desmond was when he says after this is over, he wants to use the Animus to go "all the way back". Now imagine the next game takes place during the war between the humans and the ancients as Desmond tries to learn how to defeat Juno in the present.

@fungusmonkey you're right that they don't say only Desmond can touch it but they make a point of saying your touch will save the world talking to Desmond. so his dad could touch it hell they could all lick it if they wanted but it wouldn't do anything unless Desmond was the 1 touching it because of like i said before his "magic" DNA.

And yeah i remember the whole thing about he must find the girl who yeah isn't Rebecca. Which is why i don't think or at least i hope Desmond isn't dead. but i can see this girl who ever she is being the new modern day protagonist if Desmond is actually gone. i don't know the ending is week, but i just hope its an abrupt and week attempt of a cliff hanger/ fake out to the end of A game. Instead of an abysmal and pointless end to a characters story arc

@Tom - I might be starting to mentally block out the ending already, but I don't recall them ever saying that ONLY Desmond could touch the orb. Seems like they just needed him to unlock the mystery and open the door. I may be forgetting a key piece of dialog.

Speaking of forgotten dialog- what ever happened with the whole "find Eve" thing that Juno told Desmond in Brotherhood? There was that whole bit about there being another woman beside Demond at the end. (and I don't think she was referring to the tech girl)
