Antal to Direct 'Predators'

Ain't It Cool News reports that Predators producer Robert Rodriguez has announced that Vacancy director Nimrod Antal will direct the film.
Rodriguez, who is shepherding the project, says the story involves "a very intense group of people stranded on a Predator planet discovering unspeakable horrors - that are not always from outside their group. So like the original movie, the title does have a double meaning. Aliens was a different take on the Alien idea, and an original movie in it's own right, and that's what we want to do with this."

They need someone with imagination. I really sick of all the cheap directors who copy everyone else. Get somebody like JJ Abrams who does things his own way, but doesn't completely screw up the series - amen.

I'm not gonna joke about the guys name again, some guy jumped on me last time lol.
I don't think this idea will work like aliens though, the alien is more flexible, it could plausibly be both the cunning hunter and part of a hive system. Even the AVP films got the predators sort of right. Alien prequel could work. This probably won't. We'll have to wait and see...

Comment by larry on July 4, 2009 at 11:30pm - here we go again with this remake,re-do bulls...t. im so tired of thse wannabe remakes and re-do's. nothing beats the originas so give it up already. as for the upcoming alien prequel/??? without sigourney weaver's ripley it aint aien so toss that script in the toilet bowl.i have the predator and alien films on dvd, and will prefer to watch them than all this lae ass remake crap.....
