5. L.A. Noire
Rockstar made the great video game Red Dead Redemption last year, which was my favorite game of that year. The western is also one of my favorite genres. Now, they have granted us with the masterful L.A. Noire. A game that wears it's genre influences on its sleeve and still remains incredibly original and compelling. I have beaten it twice, and I look forward to revisiting the cases I failed to get the highest star rating on. I don't play Cole Phelps, I feel like I am him. SO BEWARE EVIL DOERS OF SPILL!
4. Resistance 3
Say hello to my new favorite PS3 game. What an incredible shooter this is and undoubtably the finest Resistance yet. From the harrowing story to the extremely addictive and destructive multiplayer, I can't see anyone getting bored of this.
3. Portal 2
Now we move on to the BEST PUZZLE GAME OF ALL TIME!!! But how much is that saying? We have seen many puzzle games that stump us and leave us frustrated, but when Portal 2 stops you in your tracks, the fun doesn't cease, but continues as you test out each new scenario. And this is some of the best voice acting I have heard in a while.
2. Super Mario 3D Land
This is the best Mario I have played, and boy have I been playing this like a freaking madman. I can't walk in the streets without this damned system in my pocket, but it is so worth it when you have all this fun awaiting me.
1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
If you don't already know, I suck at Oblivion. I was frustrated with the game and walked away from it furious. So I was skeptical going into this one, but holy shit I am glad I did. There are only some 15 minutes of forced narrative here, but then you can simply wander off and soak in the glorious world of Skyrim. Filled with damn near endless adventures, collectables, characters, and bad puns.
