So, Sunday is the Golden Globe Awards and many people consider the Golden Globes the award show that predicts what the Oscar nominations will be. It's been like this for years.
This year, half could be right and half will definitely be wrong. You'll see what I mean in a little bit. So, as always, I predict who I think will win the Golden Globe and who should win too. So, let's get right to it with the first award.
Best Motion Picture - Drama
Black Swan
Protozoa Pictures & Cross Creek Pictures & Phoenix; Fox Searchlight Pictures
The Fighter
Paramount Pictures and Relativity Media; Paramount Pictures and Relativity Media
Inception
Warner Bros. Pictures UK LTD.; Warner Bros. Pictures
The King's Speech
See-Saw Films and Bedlam Productions; The Weinstein Company
The Social Network
Columbia Pictures; Sony Pictures Releasing
Who I think will win and should win: The Social Network
Definitely the best film out of the bunch (Sorry, Nolan lovers), The Social Network definitely deserves to win here and if Toy Story 3 doesn't have a chance of winning Best Picture at the Oscars, it's going to be The Social Network easily.
Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama
Halle Berry – Frankie and Alice
Nicole Kidman – Rabbit Hole
Jennifer Lawrence – Winter's Bone
Natalie Portman – Black Swan
Michelle Williams – Blue Valentine
Who I think will win and should win: Natalie Portman - Black Swan
Haven't seen any of these movies mostly because my theater hasn't opened these movies yet (with the exception of Black Swan which had just opened today) but I'm putting my money on Natalie Portman because all the things I have heard about her performance is great and I think she's going to take it home here and possible at the Oscars.
Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama
Jesse Eisenberg – The Social Network
Colin Firth – The King's Speech
James Franco – 127 Hours
Ryan Gosling – Blue Valentine
Mark Wahlberg – The Fighter
Who I think will win: Colin Firth - The King's Speech
Who I think should win: Mark Wahlberg, The Figher
I thought Wahlberg's performance of The Fighter was great and probably his best performance yet but I think Colin Firth's the frontrunner here and you know what, for all the movies he's done, he deserves it.
Best Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical
Alice in Wonderland
Walt Disney Pictures; Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
Burlesque
Screen Gems; Sony Pictures Releasing
The Kids Are All Right
Antidote Films, Mandalay Vision, Gilbert Films; Focus Features
Red
di Bonaventura Pictures; Summit Entertainment
The Tourist
GK Films; Sony Pictures Releasing
Who I think will win and should win: The Kids Are All Right
They just got lazy with this category this year. If The Kids Are All Right doesn't win, I'm going to be pissed because seriously, you nominate Alice In Wonderland and The Tourist but not Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World or Toy Story 3? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical
Annette Bening – The Kids Are All Right
Anne Hathaway – Love And Other Drugs
Angelina Jolie – The Tourist
Julianne Moore – The Kids Are All Right
Emma Stone – Easy A
Who I think will win: Anne Hathaway - Love And Other Drugs
Who I think should win: Emma Stone - Easy A
Hathaway's performance was the best thing about Love and Other Drugs and I think she will take this one Sunday night. Wouldn't surprise me if Emma Stone pulled out a win because she was great in Easy A and she proved she can handle a film on her own.
Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical
Johnny Depp – Alice in Wonderland
Johnny Depp – The Tourist
Paul Giamatti – Barney's Version
Jake Gyllenhaal – Love And Other Drugs
Kevin Spacey – Casino Jack
Who I think will win and should win: Kevin Spacey - Casino Jack
Another category they got lazy with. Kevin Spacey's performance in Casino Jack is really good and out of the five nominees, it's the best one.
Best Performance by an Actress In A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture
Amy Adams – The Fighter
Helena Bonham Carter – The King's Speech
Mila Kunis – Black Swan
Melissa Leo – The Fighter
Jacki Weaver – Animal Kingdom
Who I think will win and should win: Mila Kunis - Black Swan
I think Mila Kunis is going to clean up on this one, even though I've yet to see the film. Just from the previews, she looks like she gave a great performance in Black Swan. Wouldn't surprise me if Melissa Leo wins either.
Best Performance by an Actor In A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture
Christian Bale – The Fighter
Michael Douglas – Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps
Andrew Garfield – The Social Network
Jeremy Renner – The Town
Geoffrey Rush – The King's Speech
Who I think will win: Michael Douglas - Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps
Who I think should win: Christian Bale - The Fighter
As much as I loved Douglas in Wall Street 2, he was the only thing that was great about the film. I think that he'll win it but I would like to see Christian Bale win for The Fighter, he was great in that role.
Best Animated Feature Film
Despicable Me
Universal Pictures, Illumination Entertainment; Universal Pictures
How To Train Your Dragon
DreamWorks Animation; Paramount Pictures
The Illusionist
Django Films, Ciné B and France 3 Cinéma; Sony Pictures Classics
Tangled
Walt Disney Animation Studios; Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

Who I think will win and should win: Toy Story 3
Not going to say anything. It's Toy Story 3, it's Pixar and Disney. Nuff said.

(Hævnen) Zentropa Entertainment; Sony Pictures Classics
Who I think will win and should win: Bitiful
I'm just taking a wild guess here because I've never seen any of these movies.
Best Director - Motion Picture
Darren Aronofsky – Black Swan
David Fincher – The Social Network
Tom Hooper – The King's Speech
Christopher Nolan – Inception
David O. Russell – The Fighter
Who I think will win and should win: David Fincher - The Social Network
Fincher did a great job directing The Social Network and I think he will finally get what he deserves with this movie. Wouldn't surprise me if any of the other four win too.
Best Screenplay - Motion Picture
Simon Beaufoy, Danny Boyle - 127 Hours
Christopher Nolan - Inception
Stuart Blumberg, Lisa Cholodenko - The Kids Are All Right
David Seidler - The King's Speech
Aaron Sorkin - The Social Network
Who I think will win and should fin: Aaron Sorkin - The Social Network
Sorkin's a great screenwriter and his script was easily the best out of the bunch.
Best Original Score - Motion Picture
Alexandre Desplat - The King's Speech
Danny Elfman - Alice in Wonderland
A. R. Rahman - 127 Hours
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross - The Social Network
Hans Zimmer - Inception
Who I think will win: Hans Zimmer - Inception
Who I think should win: Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross - The Social Network
The HFP might give Hans Zimmer the award but I would love to see Reznor and Ross get the award for Social Network.

"You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me" – Burlesque
Music & Lyrics By: Diane Warren
Who I think will win: Bound To You - Burlesque
Who I think should win: You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me - Burlesque
Either way, this is the only category Burlesque should be nominated for. I mean, I actually liked Burlesque but it's not Best Picture material.
Best Television Series - Drama
Boardwalk Empire (HBO)
Leverage, Closest to the Hole Productions, Sikelia Productions and Cold Front Productions, HBO Entertainment
Dexter (SHOWTIME)
Showtime Presents, John Goldwyn Productions, The Colleton Company, Clyde Phillips Productions
The Good Wife (CBS)
CBS Television Studios
Mad Men (AMC)
Lionsgate Television
The Walking Dead (AMC)

Who I think will win and should win: Boardwalk Empire
It's the best new show on TV, it definitely deserves the award.
Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series - Drama
Julianna Margulies – The Good Wife (CBS)
Elisabeth Moss – Mad Men (AMC)
Piper Perabo – Covert Affairs
Katey Sagal – Sons Of Anarchy
Kyra Sedgwick – The Closer (TNT)
Who I think will win: Julianna Marguiles - The Good Wife
Who I think should win: Katey Sagal - Sons Of Anarchy
Marguiles is The Good Wife, she's the best thing about the show and I'm not going to be surprised if she wins but I would love to see Katey Sagal gets some recognition for Sons Of Anarchy, a fucking badass show.
Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series - Drama
Steve Buscemi – Boardwalk Empire (HBO)
Bryan Cranston – Breaking Bad
Michael C. Hall – Dexter (SHOWTIME)
Jon Hamm – Mad Men (AMC)

Modern Family's a great show and I'll be happy if it wins but I'd love to see The Big Bang Theory finally get some recognition as a great series because it is and the fourth season proves my point.
Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series - Comedy Or Musical
Toni Collette – United States Of Tara (SHOWTIME)
Edie Falco – Nurse Jackie (SHOWTIME)
Tina Fey – 30 Rock (NBC)
Laura Linney – The Big C (Showtime)
Lea Michele – Glee (FOX)
Who I think will win: Laura Linney - The Big C
Who I think should win: Tina Fey - 30 Rock
I think Linney will win because apparently, if you do a show on Showtime, you're guaranteed to win an award in the first year. Look back at Toni Collette and Edie Falco who got both Golden Globe and Emmys the first year of their Showtime shows. Tina Fey should win because 30 Rock is still one of the best shows on TV right now.
Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series - Comedy Or Musical
Alec Baldwin – 30 Rock (NBC)
Steve Carell – The Office (NBC)
Thomas Jane – Hung (HBO)
Matthew Morrison – Glee (FOX)
Jim Parsons – The Big Bang Theory (CBS)
Who I think will win and should win: Jim Parsons - The Big Bang Theory
As much as I love the other shows nominated and the actors nominated, Jim Parsons should get it, he's great as Sheldon Cooper and deserves the win.
