This is my public enemy.
This film just went so wrong, I was hoping greatness, but got so little.
So before I plage you with all the negatives, here are the positives.
The film has so many number of great prefomances that I can't go into detail, so I'll stick with Johnny Depp and Christian Bale for the time being. First of all these two are really great, I belive that they are who they play, they are utterly beliveable, so much so I almost did belive it was butter, but everyone is really great they put such effort into there acting, it really pays off, that this film is just pushed up to a rental just on there acting.
The Camera work sometimes pays off, it works well during shootouts as you feel in the action, watching every bullit fly, the main problem with the movie camera is how it makes movement look, and how just plain digital it is, saying its suppost to be set in 1930 it just doesn't feel like it.
which leads me to the bad zone.
The story just doesn't scoop you in, it took me an hour before I got intrested, this is due to the characters, they all are well acted but not well developed, therefore you feel nothing for them, they just seem to be another person to grace the screen, and most of the time you are uncertian why that person is there or even who the heck are they, and this leads to the story having no relevance to today, it doesn't make the film feel special, why the film out now, what diffrence would it had made if it came out a few years ago, or a few years in the future.
really it only gets a rental, but the action scenes are the real reason that pushes it to mattine I'm going to give it, because the bullits are so loud so fast, you get overwhelmed by all the emensce action, you should watch this film once, I was disappointed by the film but really, its not bad, just not all that greatness it seemed to had promised.
low mattine!
