A Review of BRUNO by me, El Foggy

I had a feeling this movie was going to bad, well its not, I thought that this movie was going to borat, well it is. and I still laughed my ass off.

The film starts of with a prologe, involving random acts of homosexualty sexual inventiveness, with bruno and what I only think was the kid from gran torino, this just gets wrong, and thats what the film is.....plain wrong.

so bruno gets fired from his TV show in austria, and goes to los angles to become superstar famous, and this were the real life meets the film, unlike borat, where he just went around meeting normal people, bruno goes to people who has something to do with fame and fortune, shows them something not completly PC, and see's them squrim.

sasha baron cohen portrays bruno perfectly, a self centered, larger than life dick, and you get that while he's on screen there's one shot which wraps up the intire persona of bruno, where his penis looks at the screen and says "BRUNO!", but you can't forget one profomance in particular, which is, the little child OJ, he always looks gormless towards whats happening around him, unsure he knew what was going on, but if he did, he wasn't very scared of anything.

the film delivers laughs, thick and fast, some don't work, but for the magority they have you at least smerking.

But the film does come with its problems. Bruno just isn't a likeable character, you think to yourself that he deserves to get into these situations, instead of when in borat, you feel sorry for him when something bad happens. the film is also quite badly edited, half the film is people looking suprised, sometimes this does get a giggle, but when its shot after shot of a woman with her eyes wide open and her mouth drooping to the floor, you feel the repatition, the particular scene in the chatshow (which most of is in the trailer already) lasts for about 5 minutes, when more than half of it is covered in the last 30 seconds of the trailer, this is because its big black women looking suprised, for most of the time.

I laughed quite a bit though, so I think if you went out of you way and went for a mattine you would get you moneys worth out of it.
