Mr. Chocolate Bar, it also refers to a race (though horrible low brow translation of latin) and not geography. For example, West Indians do not want to be associated with Africans. Drop an N-bomb to a Jamaican in NYC, you get laughter. You call them "Duc-LAN" which means, Servant of the Crown that being most if not all of the Caribbean was colonized by the English and English educated...not American. You'll be lucky if they just chop your fingers off. That goes with anyone from Trinidad and god help you if do that you someone from Guyana. Of course nothing in the aftermath of horrific slave trade that transported millions to their death is absolute terms of blood line but it goes to show you how much lingering pain still affects minorities in America.

label lessons:

A Chicano is a person from Mexico. Puerto Ricans and Cubans , therefore, are not Chicano.

A Hispanic is a person with some (not 100%) Spaniard blood in them.

A Latino is a person from Latin America (puerto rico/cuba etc) who has an admixture of Spanish or Portuguese. A woman who fits this description is called LatinA.

A Spaniard or Spanish person is a European from Spain. Many do not like to be associated with 'Hispanics".

A Hispanic is anybody who is partially Spanish. Spanish + x = Hispanic

A black person is anybody who is part or all African. This is true down to at least 1/4 African , below which point moos start claiming they are this or that cause they don't want to be seen as black.

A person from, for example, Nigeria, is NOT African American, he is African! If he then attains American citizenship, he becomes 'African American'

Africa is not a country, it is a continent on which there are many African countries. When you take a trip to France you usually do not say you took a trip to Europe so stop saying your friend is from Africa, when he is from Senegal, for example.

Women, when you orgasm, you did not 'bust a nut'. Men bust a nut, you don't have any nuts.

I guess I got off topic there....

First thing's first, best wishes to Cyrus and his loss.

Now to frivolous matters:

I feel that the only thing to hold against Petraeus is that he let the woman he was cheating with have access beyond her level of clearance. If it weren't for that, where it actually poses a security threat, I'd say that the media is blowing the whole thing out of proportion and it's not their goddamn business whether or not people cheat on their spouses (unless they're preachy, sanctimonious hypocrites) . Again, that's if he didn't give her access that could compromise security; that's completely on him.

As for the Star Wars matter, but I don't think that the lack of a good director is going to unfuck it up at this point. Either you pretend the prequels don't exist and enjoy the originals for what they were, or you keep reminding yourself that the prequels are in fact a thing and that they kind of fuck up everything because now every time you see Vader, you remember when he was a whiny young punk.
I honestly couldn't give less of a shit if they make the new sequels good enough to erase the prequels or if they run the money-train into the Disney vault next to Song of the South. I don't care if they make it this bad:

Fact of the matter is that they didn't drop 4 billion to sit on that property and that Mouse will get a director, even if he has to give up Minnie for a night. What I am sure of is that in spite of The Avengers and any good Disney movie, no IP is safe until it's finally completed as anyone is capable of screwing up (see:  Star Wars prequels). I'd be lying though if I said I wouldn't mind seeing it blow up in the Mouse's face, though, because shadenfreude is my Four Loko.

That said, I think that these high profile directors turning down the job at least shows that they're aware of the difficulties and actually respect the originals. It would be fascinating to know if deep down whether many of them even want there to be more Star Wars films or what direction they would like to see them go or possibly avoid.
