Comment by Ji Wada on April 20, 2012 at 7:45pm Anime could be live action if they don't pick the crazy exaggerated animes tbh. DBZ, naruto, bleach ect would suffer from that. The best anime for live action would be Neon Genesis Evangelion. It was revolutionary for multitudes of reasons. Such a great anime could easily be translated to cinema. It was not over the top with crazy hair and things like that. On the surface, you got a mech action show while being very deep in story and meaning. Other mech animes, such as gundam, would also be easy to translate to film. Cool badass robot fighting is not hard to market. Just look at how well Transformers did.
The mainstream animes where you have fist/weapon fighting with magical powers would be the hardest to make into film. They are too over the top. The problem gets more compounded when these animes have over 9000 eps. Then the question would be how do we tell this story or do we make one up or pick a smaller story in the series. There are defiantly animes that could be movies but the mainstream ones are not it.
Comment by Lionel 192 on April 18, 2012 at 5:13pm No wonder you guys don't learn any other language. You still see it as a joke. The U.S. is the only country in the world where speaking more than one language is seen as a negative thing.
Comment by Sucker for Twilight on April 18, 2012 at 12:50pm Korey didn't spoil Cabin. If you watch any trailer of it, or even the 30 or 15 second commercials they have on TV, you see exactly what he says happens. He didn't tell us anything the movie advertisements didn't tell us.
Comment by Mr. E on April 18, 2012 at 1:01am Great show as usual guys. Just wanted to mention that even though the 3D release of Titanic isn't raking it in huge here in the states, it's actually doing gang busters everywhere else in the world, and has already earned over $200 Million since it's re-relase in world wide grosses, and is still going strong. So I wouldn't count on this being part of the death knell for 3D releases of older films like Korey was predicting.

Comment by keh006 on April 17, 2012 at 8:13pm A harry potter movie barely resembling the book? You should go after the 6th movie before the 3rd.
Comment by Mr. Bubbles on April 17, 2012 at 7:22pm Leon saying how great the second Hunger Games would be with Cuaron is kind of funny, since that would likely mean that it would barely resemble the book at all (yeah, I'm "that guy" on PoA >_>)
Comment by FalseFace on April 17, 2012 at 5:24pm P.S. Thanks for spoiling Cabin for me, Korey.
