Thanks Carlyle and Korey for taking the time to comment, even though y'all want to "smack the shit out of me" and called me an "ungrateful ass". I didn't appreciate that part of your responses.

Korey:

I never claimed you guys weren't professional and good at your jobs ('cept Co-Host). I was trying to illustrate how I thought Carlyle always cut ACOCO short because he put himself above you guys. Apparently, I was wrong and Carlyle is being economical with his time due to other obligations/jobs.

As for my other comments, well.....People have minor criticisms about things that they like, even. And with an operation as big as Spill there is bound to be one or two things a person disagrees with. Being a Spillio for six months or so, those were the three things that stuck in my craw this whole time. I put all 3 in one post.

1) Excessive # of hosts on LEOG.

2)Carlyle's "snobbish" attitude and him always harping on the time limit to ACOCO (which Carlyle responded to and clarified his reason for doing so.)

3)Co-Host. (you like the guy because he is loyal to the show and a good friend. Okay, I'll respect that.)

I wasn't trying to be a troll or a hater, but when I saw that one question about Cyrus' time limit, it all just came pouring out.

Why are you blasting me for my "constructive criticism", but you love cumonass, who is
1)inarticulate 2) crass, 3) is not constructive or witty with his criticism of Spill, he just hates you, and the worst crime of all in video blogging 4) has a totally unappealing personality?

LEOG is perhaps my favorite show because it appeals more to my tastes of comics. And, they have quite a few female members.

And they ain't got one damned interesting thing to say.

With LEOG, you get Cyrus, Leon and a plethora of voices and view points.

All talking over each other at the same time.

As someone who listens to all three podcasts, allow me to break down their strengths:

ACOCO will always be the first podcast I ever listened to. I think it's greatest strength is that Korey and Carlyle are so on opposite ends of how they view films that I'm interested to see what they think of certain films. We all remember the Punisher: Warzone debate. While I tend to lean more towards Carlyle in those interesting discussions (they're never really fights), I love that Korey adds something to his viewpoint every single time. That and we always get to hear about the top 5.

LDT has been around pretty much for a year. I will admit the lengthy episodes are intimidating, but I love that Korey and Co-Host have fun. When they laugh at something as funny as racist cookies, Lord Humungus impersonations or even their own internet trolls, that comraderie and energy becomes infectious. I wasn't a fan of the Co-Host at first from the reviews, but once LDT started and we got some more of his personality and his likes, it made the middle of the week something to look forward to. Yes, it's a long show, but it's packed with a lot of good.

LEOG is perhaps my favorite show because it appeals more to my tastes of comics. Yes, there are a lot of members, but each and every one of them add something special. And, they have quite a few female members. With LEOG, you get Cyrus, Leon and a plethora of voices and view points. They've talked about comics I didn't know about and ultimately picked up. They talk about nostaglic movies I've forgotten since I was a kid. With LEOG you feel like you're with friends and you want to be there with them discussing comics, TV and film.

All these shows are fun and each have the right amount of chemistry. That's their biggest strength.

To Tim:

It's not a personal bias when I say that I think LDT (yes, at over an hour long) is the most listened to, so cut Co-Host some slack. I can't really speak for LEOG, but the most feedback, email, and fan art I get comes from LDT.

And let me tell you about professionalism, Tim. When we lost our podcast Co-Host committed the time and effort to re-record again. He didn't do it for money and he didn't do it because I asked him. No, he did it because he felt it was his obligation to give people a show. Pure and simple. And no, neither him nor I come in with the attitude "well, I get paid for this". We do it because we enjoy it and we think it translates well to the fans. If we ever started to do it simply for money we wouldn't be giving our best and therefore wouldn't do it all.

You want to know what else is professional? When I stay up late nights with hardly any sleep or social life to make sure this site remains entertaining for those who enjoy our content. Content we provide for free, even to ungrateful ass people like you.

So get your story right before you start throwing out remarks about who should be 'professional' and who needs to get fired. As far as what we do on LDT, Co-Host is one of the most professional people I have the pleasure to work with - and I won't let someone like you talk shit about him.

I was just listening and I might have to agree with some of the people here that Doctor Who is the longest running Science Fiction television series.

I myself haven't seen either the movie or TV series of Stargate, but I hear good things about it.

question for carlyle:

how is it determined that this is the most listened to podcast on spill?

not asking to be snarky... i am genuinely interested in how this is determined. i've heard many times on various podcasts that "ratings are up" due to various things (most commonly heard on leog in reference to co-host guest appearances). do you guys have a tracker that logs the downloads via the site and or itunes? is it some kind of online nielsen ratings? i would be interested to see a breakdown of the ratings. i get the impression from unique posts in the comments section that ldt is the most listened to, but they may just have the more vocal audience.

it's ok if it was self aggrandizing hyperbole, i was just curious if there is an actual methodology utilized to make that determination.

Tim, I want to slap the shit out of you and hug you at the same time. While it is easy to see why you might think the way you do about me, it doesn't factor in that I immediately go from recording to writing for my other jobs. The reason I think of myself as a "professional" is because I earn 100% of my income from writing about movies - and I take this job VERY seriously. It's why I've never had to apply for a job in this field. People come to me. They know when they hire me that I come to WORK, not just to have fun.

The REASON I get vocal about the hour limit is that over time Korey let it creep past an hour. When you break down the people who listen to podcasts, you see a MAJOR dropoff of listenership after the first hour mark. People have become programmed by television and radio to enjoy their entertainment in 1/2 hour and hour long blocks. You instinctively can feel when a tv show or movie SHOULD be ending, because your internal clock tells you. I've always tried to keep ACOCO at around an hour, and as a result it is the most listened to podcast on Spill. While you may not realize it, the reason you listen to us is partly due to this attempt at restraint. Believe me, if the vast majority of listeners out there (not the loudest 100) wanted long form podcasts as a general rule, this would be longform. But they don't. So I try to give them a concentrated hour of entertainment with little to no fat.

God, I forgot just how much I hated The Day After Tomorrow. I utterly despise that fucking movie. The only Roland Emmerich film I kind of like has to be Independence Day. As for The Patriot, it has Jason Isaacs, and I enjoy watching his character interpretations. *cough* I really hope they don't try to revisit Independence Day. >.>

Blade Runner's directors cut sans Deckard's (Harrison Ford) narration is the foremost of the "worse than original."
