Spilldoes and STAR WARS brethren/fans alike, it has come to my attention that an iconic (and sacred) movie relic is a stones throw away from utter obliteration. I call anyone-who-reads-this attention for one purpose: to aid in the restoration of this old familiar for future generations (and me) to visit. This home away from home, for many, is in some dire need of attendance. What could I be talking about? Why, it is that unforgettable igloo out under the sun; The Lars Homestead.
Forever immortalized, not only on celluloid, but in the minds of many throughout the world. First, to those who saw it back on that fateful day on May 25, 1977. And later revisited, and imprinted in a new generation of movie-goers in 2005.
Majestic, isn't it? Well, after 30-odd years sitting in the harsh Tunisian desert, enduring the tortures of the sun and sand, this is what it looks like now:
Still rather great, mind you, but it's far past its glory days and it's getting worse.
If you care enough to want to preserve such an iconic bit of movie history (that anyone can go and see) for generations to come, I implore you to head on over to the main site HERE and make a donation.
If you are one of the cool kids and gotcha yourself one of dems social networking pages called da Facebook, show your support by becoming one with Force, that is this page.
