Are you ready? The big news of the day that will make you do cartwheels across the room in joy for not a moment of your life has gone by without being tinged with anticipation for this announcement... Disney has finally announced a director for

TRON 2

*waiting for reaction*

Ok, so sue me it's a slow news day.

Disney has named Joseph Kosinski to direct this 25 years later sequel. Kosinski has previously only directed commercials but he's also already signed to direct the remake of Logan's Run. Apparently, the man's work caught the eye of director David Fincher who fast tracked him with an ad agency. Now he's on to big summer features. This guy is somebody's nephew or something, right?

No information is forthcoming yet on the plot of the sequel or who will return to star in it, but Disney is referring to it as "the next chapter" of the Tron saga. And you know what that means...Somebody wants another hit franchise. Hollywood's motto in 2007 seems to be "No franchisable license left behind."
