BTW, Spill Crew, the storyline in the film about the Valkyr street drug and its eventual link to the Aesir company as well as the Norse angle and a character B.B. (independent of Beau Bridges' initials) are familiar with the game.

Watching MAX PAYNE, I was reminded of SILENT HILL. Both films were very well done and at times captured what made the games appealing but also had some nonessential material to cut. In MP's case, it needed less drama and more action. As a video game "purist", while a bit disappointed, I felt this movie reflected the game's storyline and characters enough to put it head and shoulders above that piece of **** RESIDENT EVIL. I'd look forward to a sequel.

I like the movie. I was also a big fan of the video game. I felt they did a good for the most part keeoing it true to the video game. I only had problems with the movie. 1. The action parts were two small. 2.He didnt have a problem with pain killers. But think I that was the casualty of making it a PG 13 movie. Which there was no reason making it PG 13.

Although dialogue may be less than stimulating in 'Max Payne,' its dark images relate what needs to be said -- and this approach definitely worked for me.

One of the scariest things in movie-land for me are movies based off video games and "Max Payne" has only once again re-enforced my fear of the video game movie. I can only pray that they don't do a sequel.

I have lost what little hope I had left in video game adaptations. Max Payne and Silent Hill were two of the most 'filmable' franchises and they found a way to butt rape it.

Surprise, surprise, it's some ol' bullshit.
I don't get it, why does Mark Whalberg keeps trying to be an action star?

Haven't seen it, but thinks for warning me, heard they messed up, like limiting gunfights, bullettime, lack of intensity. And they missed the point? Since these are reviews...spoilers expected. How did they do with the whole Valkyr deal? Leave it to the drugs or did they turn it into Constantine? And aslo...I'm guessin Max wasn't abusing pain killers (considering the rate)?
