Pending the release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I got to thinking what are some of the most easily recognized movie songs?
Every time we hear these songs without even looking we can match it directly to the movie and think how much better the music made the movie. These are in my opinion the best of the best and most easily recognizable themes in the movie business. Before you look try to think of your favorites and see if they made the list, and how well they did.
10. Jurasic Park
Korey don't cry. But this song is just as well done as the Dinosaurs themselves.
9. The Godfather
The slow Italian music is known by all film buffs and expresses the emotions throuought the whole movie with its ups and downs.
Who are you going to call? we all god damn know and thats why Ghostbusters makes the list.
7. Rocky (Skip to 1:50)
Who hasn't worked out to this music? Every time this played Rocky won making it the song you should listen to if you plan on running all through Philly.
A great Super hero deserves a great theme and making the transfer from comics to movies this theme delivers.
5. Pirates of the Caribbean
First movie was great after that they were okay but the constant that made the last two movies better than they should be is this theme. (it works wait a few seconds)
This classic had the song that scared the sh*t outta people when they first heard this. Still used today in many references to the movie it was a great tense song for the great tense situation.
One of the greatest (second half) stories told had the perfect music to go along and it is still only number three. (Kent and MDS if you read this I'm still waiting for a reply on lightsaber fighting.
2. James Bond
This can't even be explained how it just worked with the super British double O, but everytime this comes on atleast one person wants to shoot something.
Another Lucas film in the top three and we all know why. This music made Indiana Jones bullet proof, death proof, Nazi proof, and all other kinds of proof. This is obviously an auto biography of Lucas in the early years showing how he found the treasure box of all great themes songs (Including the Starwars theme).
